Are there any plans from 343i to allow players to unlock previous weekly challenge rewards?
I know a few people who have been unable to complete the weekly ultimate challenges and have been unable to unlock the rewards. These include rewards like visor colours, so it would be a shame if they can’t use them.
A potential solution would be to allow players to see all the weekly challenge rewards and be able to buy them for a low price (like 100 credits)

Although it sucks for people who missed out I hope that they never add in the ability to purchase or earn these rewards again. It is basically spitting in the face of the people who slogged through the challenges to earn them fair and square. Putting a $ value on the time someone spent each week to earn them is kinda gross and more predatory than having overpriced content in the game shop.
I hear where you’re coming from, however there’s major problems with the system as it stands.
For one, what if I go on holiday for two weeks and they add the Mark V helmet as the ultimate challenge? Well now I can no longer obtain my helmet ever. It’d be cool to have it so exclusive, but for those who want it but can’t obtain it, it sucks completely.
What happens in 3 years from now where tons of armour is permanently locked because of weekly ultimate challenges? It’s an awful system based entirely from FOMO.
Fomo is going to exist no matter what. And i think there is nothing wrong with timed stuff. It sucks if you miss out but this has been a thing in games for many years. The fomo has nothing to do with the matchmaking system.
Mmorpgs have been doing seasonal limited events since the mid 2000’s and no one batted an eye.
It does however have everything to do with players experience.
In every other Halo game, we’ve been able to earn armour and not have it locked behind a FOMO wall.
The Halo Spartan is one of the greatest accomplishments in player customisation in my opinion as players can make multiple characters which represent themselves in-game, all without adding a face. I can look at certain armour sets and instantly recognise my friends because of the previous systems in place, which I think it pretty awesome.
FOMO is a terrible system that only punishes its fans for taking a break from the game. For going on a family holiday you may be unable to obtain an armour piece that you’ve been wearing since 2007. Multiple players, myself included, use the same Spartan designs throughout every Halo game because it represents us. There should not be a system in place which hurts the cusomisation community this much.
And don’t try to shift the goalposts. Halo is not a MMORPG. That’s an incredibly weak excuse and you know it.
You might aswell be saying that unlocking armour should take 14 days to do, however it could be sped up by gems. Mobile games do it, so what’s the problem? Uhhh, Halo isn’t a mobile game.
Not shifting goalposts, just stating that timed unlocks are 2 decades old. Games have been doing it forever. Thisnisnt thebfirst shooter to donit andnitnwont be the last. You can still unlock stuff through the battlepass with no time limits. The weekly and events are optional content. You also cant use the excuse that halo has always been this way so it should be thisbway now this game is not those games. They have opted for a different game model which aligns more with what the industry as a whole ia doing, i dont blame them, but complaining that you will have fomo is a you problem. Them having a brokwn matchmaking system is an everyone problem.
Also I’m not really sure why you are mentioning mobile games. That was a bit random.
I dont think it really matters if they somehow come back around as long as its earnable it’d be good for everyones moral so people can actually earn stuff one after the other
They could just do it like the battle pass you can only do one list of challenges at a time to get one item
I get people who earned it first love the exclusivity but the challenges arent hard you can get them done in a few hours so its not like you busted your -Yoink!- to get it you just happened to do the challenges that week
I think itd be in 343s best interest to prolong players play time with distractions like challenges rewards leave item exclusivity to the event items
I expect they’ll come back at some point. As much as I like the idea of having earned something exclusive they’ve already given away stuff people worked to get.
There was the first Ultimate challenge for example.
I finished the Tac Ops event in the first week but - due to issues - if you played it during the second week you got all of the unlocks.
I finished the LSS event a couple of days ago - next week - again due to issues - each event challenge will unlock two tiers.
