I know that to unlock armor we will need to spend cR or Spartan Points. My question is will they be requisite-free to buy them or will there be specific challenges or do we need a certain rank to unlock them to buy them?
We don’t know. We do know that Mark VI is unlocked by beating the campaign on Legendary, though. (solo or co-op)
I really hope its like Halo 3’s unlocking system where you had to do certain things/get certain achievements to unlock certain armor. The only flaw Halo 3 had with the armor was that it didn’t tell you how to unlock it! Basically you had to search the net to see how some of it was unlocked. It seems to be pointing more towards a reach style unlocking system with the spartan points, will be interesting to see how it turns out.
you buy weapons AA ect with spartan points. you get armor buy ranking up in War games and Spartan ops and also buy doing achievements, commendations and challenges. they said this at comic con. but i dont know if this is the best system. there is A LOT of armor in there and to fit that in. I just hope i can get my solar visor quickly.

I hope not. it was pretty annoying unlocking armors in 3. Too time consuming. i rather just buy them.
at least the halo 4 acheivements aren’t luck based multiplayer acheivements in like halo 3.
I have it confirmed (Give me a moment to find the source if you want it) that we unlock some armor or perhaps a whole permutation at every Spartan Rank. Spartan Points are restricted to loadout items. It works like this in Specializations too–only one of the ten levels per specialization unlocks the whole armor set, and it’s pretty early on in the ten. After that, its emblems and such up until the magic armor mod.

lol, don’t remind us. It was a terror for me. i ended up boosting for most of them.

Oh, yes I remember when I got the double laser kill in lone wolves.
i still never got that laser achievement

I will never forgive Halo 3 for this.
Oh, just kill 4 people in a row in a game mode with only six people? Upside-down while facing away from the television? While reciting the Tibetan Book of the Dead? And offline players are locked out of content they payed for?
OMG WHAT A GREAT GAME >_>
> i still never got that laser achievement
likewise. I still haven’t even got that along with a few others.
Yeah some of those were a -Yoink- to get in halo 3 lol. I was able to get all 1000 g’s for the on disk content on halo 3, the legit way. it took a hell of a long -Yoink- time though, i can say that much. -Yoink- was frustrating as hell. that being said, id have no problem with having armor tied to some achievements.
Although i can see how this would be a problem and time consuming/luck based for most people (myself included).
Spartan points are only used for loadout options like someone mentioned. Armor is either unlocked via ranking up or through achievements and does NOT have to be bought.
So long as I have to accomplish something that is somewhat challenging/entertaining and not just plain boosty I’m cool with it.

I got mine legit… by sheer blind luck on Rat’s Nest. Maybe Next Time, Steppin Razor and others I never managed, though.
EDIT: I stopped feeling bad when I got a Killtacular with the sword in Reach, though. xD
I really am happy that the achieves are less luck based. Also happy to see the ‘Legendary Solo’ achieve returning! MTAYS on Reach was hell. And Reach was a fairly easy game.

What does “MTAYS” stand for?

A monument to all your sins.
