I really do hate to complain because Halo 4 is looking like a great game and I love 343i so much, but I seriously don’t understand the need for unlockable weapons. In a single-player environment then I think unlocking weapons is great. It gives you an advantage over the brainless AI that run at you. I can also understand unlockable weapons in a Mass effect 3 type multiplayer, where the players work together to kill said brainless AI who run at them. But I don’t think unlocking weapons is right for Halo multiplayer. If I was, for some reason, to cancel my pre-order and get the game a few weeks after release, everyone else would have unlocked more weapons than me and the game would be completely unbalanced. It’s all good rewarding players for playing the game a lot but for crying out loud give them a nameplate or a shiny new helmet, not something that will give them an advantage. The advantage is supposed to come from being good at the game, not from the barrel of your rocket launcher…
Welcome to the murky world of modern PVP games. I once ventured there, to a new FPS on the market. It had it’s own mini-store, with an ad saying, “Dominate the competition with this uber gun for only 6000 points!”, or something to that effect anyway. I quickly retreated back to Quake.
I can see myself playing nothing but SWAT and Snipers in Halo 4. At least with those game types, everyone will have a fair chance of winning…
There are pre-set lodouts for each map, and you can play spartan-ops till you unlock the weapons you want.
i dont like this its unfair for people who cant play much
If done properly, there’s nothing wrong with it.
Just got to adapt and overcome, got to strategize the enemies movements and use their own weapons against them.
