unlockable items?

people are actually okay with this? i mean unlock-able weapons and items are actually going to be in Halo 4? that is complete blasphemy and is completely undermining the whole point of balance within the Halo series. After AA ruined starting off balanced the only thing left was sandbox balance. but now with the addition of unlock able items the sand box can now be unbalanced because people will be able to unlock different weapons so they will most likely be able to not only start with weapons no one else can but also most likely pick up weapons that others cant. it seems kinda familiar too me and smells kinda fishy… like a cod fish

you can only unlock non power weapons. and there are default load outs for the lower levels to give them a chance against the higher players. the sandbox is still balanced. its just another way to give us weapons. im guessing they added it because people didn’t go out of there way to pick up PP and needlers etc.

Here’s the deal with the unlockables:

-Only non-power weapons can be used in a custom loadout in Matchmaking.
-No one can spawn with a rocket launcher or a sniper rifle unless they are in the appropriate playlists.

-There are currently 2 pre-set loadouts that can be selected that can help newcomers or late-arrivals in each gametype/map setup to help prevent them from getting owned.
-You do not have to start with an Assault Rifle and a sad face on a BTB map unless you actually do so.

-They are earned by leveling up your military rank.
-This can be done by playing Matchmaking games, or playing Spartan Ops.

Does these answer your questions?

i knew you couldnt start with power weapons or unlock them. it just seems to me like it will suck being like oh thats no fair he has a battle rifle and i dont. then when i kill him with my dmr and try to pick up his battle rifle it will tell me i cant use it because its not unlocked or some crap like that

Here we go again.

You don’t need to unlock a weapon to be able to pick it up on the battlefield. The unlockable weapons are there to allow a player to customize their loadouts to fit their preferred playstyles. In-game, you will not be restricted as to what weapons you can or cannot pick up, just what you can spawn with.

As was mentioned before. Each map/gametype combo will have default loadouts based on the gametype and map.

Change is good… keeps things fresh (unlike other games lol)

Besides as others said, there won’t be 16 ppl spawning with rocket launchers and sniper rifles! no biggie

Think of it as a positive, something to keep you playing for longer.
