Unlockable Grenade REQs & Grenade Menu in Warzone?

Why isn’t this a thing 343?
I feel grenades in Warzone should be treated like weapons, you have to unlock them first to use them (with the better ones having a higher rarity). This feature could mean that a new slot for “grenade” would be added to the load out requisition menu, and during the match you can choose out of the different grenades you have unlocked, but the better grenades (rarer) may have a higher REQ level before you can use them, and frag grenades obviously the default. This would also mean that new grenade types could be added to the games requisitions, like a incendiary grenade (fire bomb), Healing grenade, spike grenade, etc.
Please make this a thing in an update

The only problem is that if everyone spawns with 2 plasmas, vehicles like scorpions become much worse.

I like the way grenades are implemented now, as an armor upgrade. It feels balanced enough. I can drop into a game with two frags and a splinter grenade, three frags, or (if I can unlock it) a plasma grenade. I think the mix of grenades as it is now is good enough for me. That’s just me though, thoughts like bringing back the firebomb are pretty great, those were some of my favorite things to throw in Halo 3.

I just wish players would stop spamming grenades on first sight. They’re easy to avoid in most cases, but jeez. The amount of times I’ve watched the enemy back step and release two grenades consecutively is disgusting. It’s even worse when a teammate does so. What I’m saying is grenades are tactical and powerful, but some player’s confidence is so low that instead of using their gun, they prefer to spam grenades to try and turn the tides. That being said I like how grenades are limited to 2 (or 3) on spawn. If REQ station refilled grenades capturing armories would be a lot more annoying.

No what I’m trying to say is that the better grenades cost a lot more REQ points so you cant just trade the default ones out whenever you feel like it, you have to earn up before using them, kind of like power weapons.

To me it makes no sense that grenades come under armor mods

The way grenades are currently implemented is fine.

Frags are the weakest of the 3. But holding 3 Frags can be useful if you like nadshotting.

The Splinter Grenade is VERY POWERFUL. since it can EMP vehicles, lets you nadeshot, and create barriers within Doorways which burn people to death if they walk through. you should only ever spawn with 1. its pretty much a guaranteed Tank kill or player kill when im using them. but they come at the cost not using other mods.

Plasma grenades are also powerful, allowing you to stick vehicle and deal tons of damage, stick players, since they dont bounce as much they are easier to direct, and they are more likely to kill in 1 hit. Same as the Splinter Grenade, you should only have 1 because they are to useful/powerful for them to be abundant.

These are grenades which need to be found in other game modes because of their utility, so you only get 1 and they come at a price.

Plasma grenades are usually less impactful when not stuck, which requires more accuracy when using them.

I’d love to see some new grenades being added to the game, like some sort of stun grenade to be introduced to the game as well.

This would be an excellent way to bring back the Spike and Flame Grenades from Halo 3! Also from looking at other comments it can open the door to more “fun grenades”.

That plus the armour mods are pretty “meh” for the grenades. You have to wait till you get to req level 5 and you can only spawm with one.

What I’m saying is imagine playing on A.R.C, your team holds one armory while the enemy team holds garage and the other armory. Those in garage could easily lob their grenades at your armory. Once they run out of nades they head to the REQ station, refill, and repeat. That would be annoying and I’m sure that’s why you’re not able to get a refill on grenades in the first place.

i could probably test this. The AOE range might be less, but I can survive standing on a Frag, but i dont believe ive ever done the same with a plasma grenade.

Higher damage, Faster Drop off - Plasma
Lower damage, Less of a Drop off - Frag
Less damage, only at point of impact, if standing in place secondary spikes will kill 1-2 players on contact (3 or more if damaged) - Spike

yeah I understand what you’re saying, I guess that to begin with is a map design flaw on 343’s side, but like I said earlier we could treat them as power weapons (need to perform good to have the better ones).

have you gotten the splinter grenade armor mod? it stun’s vehicles like a plasma pistol, just wait till more people get them and vehicles will be dropping faster then power weapons
