Hi obbyman here, and today I am typing to raise awareness of some weapon’s capabilities. There are just some weapons that have neat attributes but nobody takes advantage of them, so this thread is to help other people learn and share the secrets of these weapons.
To start off, I have the Type 31, more commonly know as the needle rifle, this gun actually fires full auto, making it VERY useful in zero bloom TU games to the point of contending with the M392 DMR. Then we have to M41 Rocket launcher, many may know this, but for the newb or two, this weapon can lock onto air vehicles. Also, it is possible to kill someone with the impact of a frag grenade, oddly enough many of these see to land on the Spartans’ crown jewels… ouch.
If you would like to expand, correct or post other weapons’s bonuses just leave a comment below.
This is obbyman, dodging the landmines.
Funny, I was going to post something regarding these lines. All I am asking from people is if they seem to have these same weapon bonuses as I have had or other people have had. I am not Dissing 343 in any way with what I am going to say, but simply what has happened since they have taken over.
I have notice dhidden bonuses with several weapons, as well have my friends, some of which have always been there, others have appeared since 343 has taken over. The following would include:
Needler: If you fire off your first half of the clip (Doesnt matter at what for the first half)and then fire off the second half, almost 99% of the time, you will get a supercombine explosion from the second half, where as it’s 50% with the first half. One of my friends and I and I took notice to this in firefight matches, and has always been around in Halo Reach. It would need testing to see if it works in matchmaking.
DMR: Ever since 343 has taken over, in any ZB/BTB/TU match, you can literally ‘two shot’ people in matchmaking. What I mean by this is that an enemy can have full shields, you shoot them in the head once with the DMR, their shields are out, and then again, they are dead. I dunno if certain conditions have to be right, or if simply this is a reoccuring glitch. Three of my friends and I all have seen this at somepoint or another, usually being the victim of it and simply dealing with it, although we have done so every here and there. One of my friends hardly plays Reach anymore becuase of this possible glitch.
If anybody else has come across matters like this with these or other weapons, either as bonuses or glitches it would be nice ot hear them.
Re: needler - I have noticed something like that - it is easier to track/kill a target if I start with something else. Say you have an elite jumping around, and you can’t get a lock. Shoot a nearby grunt, and get a good stream going, and then the elite will track quickly.
You can climb walls, and launch things (including yourself) with the concussion rifle.
also, reloads on almost all weapons happen more quickly when you have a round chambered. it is very apparent when using the sniper rifle.
