Not sure if this has been discussed yet,
The universe has been update with a few things.
It still needs a lot of added features and component that passed through the games and books,
But I sort of like the added bits… Just a bit.
It will be updated more with the coming time.

I noticed that too. Perhaps my General Grievous theory isn’t so outlandish after all.
343i probably does stuff like that in order to evolve the cannon around certain people and in turn allow for them to come back in future games or other stuff if it helps with the narrative of the game.
Covenant Remnant Commander Gek 'Lhar was shot in his spinal cavity, from a BR88 Heavy Barrel Service Rifle, by Spartan Fireteam Leader Paul DeMarco. Gek 'Lhar died in 2558, during the Second Requiem Campaign.

It seems 343i hasn’t yet decided the dates on which the Spartan Ops events took place.
Oh they just changed it.
The events of halo 5 were 9 months after the events of halo 5 story so 3 months after spartan ops 'Lhar died on august 2558

Well that’s false. Since it’s said to take place 6 months after 4, which is in 2557.

Spartan Ops happens between February 6th 2558 to Marth 3rd 2558
Infinity leaves Earth on 6th February(Cutscenes start this day with Majestic arriving on Infinity)
February 7th operation Land Grab Starts(Gameplay starts)
February 10th Crimson recovers the artifact that teathers Infinity to Requiem.
March 3rd is when Lasky and Palmer get debriefed on the handling of the events of Requiem.
Other than that we do have other seperate operations on Requiem. But the ones we know make it to the 11th February.
But we do have a definitive timeframe the Spartan Ops missions happen in.
