One of the main things I hope for Halo infinite is for the Global ranks to be based on real military ranks as opposed to just a number. I really miss ranking up and seeing a cool emblem. I like the mcc ranks but I don’t really like how its similar to the prestige system from call of duty. What do you guys think? Also a side note, imagine if they brought back the Halo 3 ranking system where 1 win=1 exp, 1 quit=-1 exp, etc.
Bring back the 50.

Ikr. That’s what i want for competitive ranks.
I thought you were asking for a universal multiplayer ranking system. So you don’t have to start from 0 when a new Halo game arrives.
1-50 or Bronze to Onyx… it’s just different labels for the same internal system. Just as long as it resets every season I will be happy.
What I would like is a hybrid rank that shows your rank across multiple areas;
- Your Halo Infinite XP
- Your overall Halo journey - Halo CE to Infinite (eg. Heroic).
- Your Competitive Skill (eg. Platinum 4).
- Your Finished Game % (quitters should be shamed).
I don’t mind the number system, but I will concede that the symbol system is just all around more fun. Sure, you can’t always tell if someone is higher or lower ranked than you if you don’t know the system, but does that matter? Even if I’m higher ranked, I can almost guarantee I’m worse than most other players, so it’s not like the information of what rank I am is important.
^ Best rank system of all time ^
Halo 2 rank system mixed with military ranks I would not mind.
How about those epic ranks 44-50 from Halo 2!!! Made me feel like a God, though I only made it to a 45 (Half moon) lol

I hope they do not do seasons. I personally did not like seasons. It discouraged me from continuing the grind.

So why wouldn’t being high Diamond or Onxy even, be pretty much the same.
I don’t get it?
0-50 vs 1-100 vs 1-1000 vs Bronze-Onyx vs Rookie-Spartan vs White-Black. It’s just a description of where you sit on (the same) graph.
The current description uses 1 - 36 (six divisions each in Bronze through Onxy)…although it does get a bit blurry in Onxy which is described by your CSR as opposed to a division (which is equal to 50 CSR points).
If you clump the majority of Onxy together as 1500-1800 (consistant with the other groupings) you can see that your previous 45 (out of 50) is nearly level 32.5 (out of 36).
Which would put you around Onxy 1575.

Seasons are important to prevent the abuse of 1-50 that was rampant in the ‘good’ old days.
And you shouldn’t be discouraged from the grind because your previous CSR is taken into account with the ranking games. It should be very easy to win back your rank from the previous Season(s).

> Just my opinion but the grind to achieve a 45 in Halo 2 felt more accomplishing/rewarding. Maybe its because Halo 2 was more competitive. Halo games after 2 made it easier to obtain a 50. Also, 44-50 had distinguished symbols rather than Onyx with a CSR number.

No im talking about the normal casual xp ranking system (recruit-inheritor/ 5 star geneneral, etc)

I didnt mind the seasons. They allow you to show off youre highest rank you ever achieved so its not a complete loss.

Its not important in the grand scheme of things. Idk I just think emblem ranks are more fun to get. Gives you a real sense of progression in my opinion.

I agree with you. emblems are more fun than numbers. I was saying that the argument for numbered ranks is probably so players can easily see where they stack up against the competition, but I don’t think that’s important. I’d rather have the more fun option.

Me too. I think ranked should be numbers but the main social rank that you get through xp should be emblem based
