You just stuck your teammate on accident. Or perhaps you were leading a warthog charge and you couldn’t maneuver out of the way so your ally gets wrapped around a telephone pole. Either way, the betrayed teammate gets salty, and will more times than not seek revenge.
Now I win a competitive arena environment, can your team afford to lose a couple of kills because of poor sportsmanship, or for two teammates walking around in circles spraying their AR’s at each other be blindsided by an enemy taking advantage of the situation? It causes problems.
So here’s what I do. If I accidentally betray a teammate, (and I’m not using a mic), I allow him to walk up to me and look at me. When he’s staring at me, I stop all movement, and tilt my camera all the way down. The result is a recessive like offering that shows the guy you didn’t mean it. And if he still harms you or kills you, just take it and move on.
So does anyone else have any similar gestures to communicate that their sorry? I think a universal move like the one I described would really benefit all of us, something easily recognizable and easy to understand, just like how when someone tea bags you you understand their being a smart -Yoink-.

I find tea bagging the corpse gets my point across most of the time. People can tell the difference between a baleful, sorrow laced -Yoink!-, a slow romantic -Yoink!-, and a ‘yeah I meant to that -Yoink!-.’
Pretty simple. In wz you can take the time to send a message right after the infraction and in arena send a message as soon as the game ends. A mb goes a long way.
If someone betrays me, I usually assume it was by accident and go about my business. If they did it intentional they will most likely do it again (from my experience). It’s immature to betray someone just because they betrayed you by accident.
i think a crouch with a head lowered in respect over the dead body on their death screen should be good. “lets have a moment of silence for this life that was lost in vain”
you gotta be careful to be just off their body though or they may think you’re tea bagging.
I used to say “sorry, I didn’t mean to” in the mic, but they would still end up betraying me so now I don’t bother. If they betray me then I’ll let it slide, but if it happens again then I’m going to go after them.
Just use a mic! You speak about “competitive” Halo, yet you’re not calling out the enemies positions? Your team will get far more assists if they know where enemies are. And all these silly gestures to try to communicate a message, when you could just speak and say sorry… it baffles me as to why you’d want to overcomplicate things like this.

I usually do a double crouch. I always crouch back when someone does something similar for a betrayal. I run into more when I run up and find a power weapon somewhere. If the player runs up and hits me or crouches I pick up my old weapon and give it back

I know you’re being nice, but you don’t owe anyone any weapon if you pick it up before them. They are being childish hitting or shooting you because you picked up a weapon before them.

That doesn’t always prevent them from betraying you. Read my post and you’ll see that they still do it. Probably because everyone is in party chat nowadays so they can’t hear you.

If they are too childish I don’t give it back, say Spartan charge me off a building…then no they don’t get it back.I’ve had that happen a few times and in one occasion got splattered by a wraith. Most weapons i see is a sniper or beam rifle, but I never let go of a sword I pick up.

Last I checked an overpriced piece of flimsy plastic wasn’t required to play the game. People shouldn’t have to have a mic or converse if they don’t want to. As opposed to my joking answer above, I usually try to send a message after the match ends.
If I betray someone I just stand still look at the corpse then look up then look at the corpse again. When you look just as surprised that they died it often gets the point across that it was accidental.

What, so if I read the post, I’ll learn something about Halo?
I’m SR148 bud, I think I’ve played enough Halo to know how it works lol.
