Out of all the control options, boxer is my favorite, but there isnt a universal option for it. I figure since grenade swap is the d-pad in h4, you could simply set it as that for the other titles. Next, when starting, or resuming an H2 campaign, ill change the graphics set to ‘new’, but it will stay on the classic set. Now, the feather and bandanna skulls, while both are fun, (which is the reason why theyre there) they dont actually work as intended, the feather skull multiplies movement physics from melee impacts, yet its actually amplifying any impact force, i noticed this when using an smg on a flood, i pushed him clear off the map, ive also done this with sentinels, only if i dont kill them they fly back in. This also happens when a sentinel shoots me with their beam, only not as great, but im still pushed away. The bandanna skull gives you infinite ammo for all weapons, however its actually only half, the skull is intended so that whenever you reload, you always get a full magazine, but it doesnt affect the ammo count what-so-ever, as when using a plasma rifle/pistol, sentinel beam or beam rifle, these weapons take directly from their ammo count, which since the skull doesnt directly affect ammo count, will still decrease. That last one has been there since day one but its really bugging me…

Not sure whats going on with the other issues you are having, but I would like to paste my topic about the graphics lock as well over here so that the devs can pay attention to a poll with more responses. Graphics are locking to one setting for me as well. Hopefully they fix this for both of us.

Ever since latest update, both Halo 1 and 2 will not start a mission in classic mode if selected to be classic in the menu. Only workaround is to start game, use back button to switch and restart mission from pause menu. However, this makes playing Halo 1 classic music impossible as this has to be done from the main menu.
