Units capturing resources ignore "all units"

Same as title, any units capturing resources ignoring the All Units as well as the Local Units command for me. I get that is can be useful as you might not want to accidently grab these units capturing resources, but an “All Units” command should mean just that, and select every unit.
This is on PC.

They do that on Xbox too

Sadly true

I actually LOVE that they are ignored as more times than not the resource/node is more important and beneficial than the one extra infantry unit you’d have in the fight.

It kinda works out

Yes, don’t take that feature away… All units in HW2 means all available units. I believe they specifically did that as a change from HW. The trade off is minimal as someone already mentioned.

Ya, i agree. Usually I assign multiple infantry units to collect resources/ capture points and would rather have them do that than defend my base.

Personally I love this feature, almost wish I could set some units to not be selected by it manually when I have say 2 marines and a fast army with more fast units in production. But seeing as some don’t like it, why not have a menu option for the feature to be on/off?

This feature you’re complaining about is actually infinitely great. On console it’s a pain in the -Yoink- to micro units, so half the time I just hit all units unless I’m trying to kill turrets and bases/infantry. I’d much rather have them keep capturing supplies or points

I have to agree that this is a horrible glitch that is not useful at all. There is no logical explanation for this to be in the game on purpose because it usually allows you to select at least 1 of the squads getting supplies (Meaning it is a glitch). So, with that being the case it’s unacceptable that things like this go unnoticed (I hope).

That wouldn’t be an issue if the UI in general wasn’t a clunky piece of trash. In Halo Wars 1 selecting Local and All units was refreshing and extremely smooth. In this game it’s an effort that’s unnecessary and just plain out annoying. The fact that 2 of 3 continue to get supplies and ignore the command makes it even more embarrassing. To be honest, if you cannot handle controlling your army (with access to all units at all times) then you should work on your management skills. Then again, with this games slow horrible scroll speed (Boost mainly) it’s kind of hard to manage anything except a pile of dump.

Agreed, not sure why anyone defends the pointless changes.

Yeah it’s one of my favorite new features. That group of Marines can keep doing what they’re doing. They’ll be rewarded with Combat Engineers!

I guess because people like to hop on the train to ride the developers or a particular series. I’m a huge fan but I will never be biased (Or try my hardest not to) toward anything because of my liking of the series.

I like it better this way.

how about an option where we can enable or disable it from the settings menu?

Even better. This solves the problem or feature for everyone.

This feature is awesome!

  • has 3 marines capturing resources.
  • Selects all units (4 remaining) to capture power nodes! AWESOME!

It’s a bit hit or miss for me. Sometimes it grabs them sometimes it doesn’t. It might have to do with me having them on my local screen at the time though.
