Please. If you’re a white american who sees more of a problem with the thread than the game… leave before posting? It’s a backstory element and it will bother anyone playing enough attention. Were 343 hoping to achieve a nationalistic fanbase?

the UNITED NATIONS is composed of many countries. It doesn’t make sense that they’d all gain an american accent during the time between halo 3 and halo 4. I fully expect that someone will answer the question “why aren’t there any foreigners?” with the answer “because it’s the future!” Bungie made sure that it’s marines and scientists were diverse to fit the picture of a “united nations” future. bungie gave us a load of realy good accents and a realy bad Australian one. 343 give us a load of american voices and one irish one. But they still throw around the unsc emblem as if they know what it means.

There is one minor character in the entire game who doesn’t have an american accent. ONE single character. There’s also a total of one person with a name who isn’t white. (who’s still american) All people who aren’t white are pushed to the side as if to say that they aren’t anywhere near as important when it comes to saving the planet.

Even when Earth is attacked- Note that they use america to draw emotion… Combined with everything else It’s as if to say that nobody would care much if the diadect targeted Mongolia or if the Indian people of delhi got composed.

Eh, i happen to be some kind of white British-Australian creature. Not that im proud of that or anything. I just think it’s a good thing to mention so that you can all call me upset because the game doesn’t have enough tea drinkers and that crocodiles aren’t a vehicle.

I noticed this to in my play through and sorry your whole post made me chuckle not to belittle it in any way

Biased developer is biased.

'MURICA!

They’re just voices really. Not something I’m really paying attention to unless its something squad based where you get attached to your squad members. Maybe it was cheaper and easier to hire local voice actors instead of ones all around the world? But I bet that never crossed your mind.

I look at it this way:

If you’re driving a 'hog and a marine dodges into you’re path, you want that marine to be an American if you’re not one. And as that’s what marines seem to do…

Because those with different accents avoid the united states like the plague?

also… i don’t think money was that much of an issue. Especialy since they don’t need big names to get a different accent.

Hey atleast they didn’t give all the bad guys english accents.

edit: reach was better.

Maybe 343I didn’t hire that many people to do the voices in the game?

> Maybe it was cheaper and easier to hire local voice actors instead of ones all around the world? But I bet that never crossed your mind.

With the amount of money MS spent on Halo 4 I doubt that was an issue. Also your post seems to imply that there aren’t any foreigners in America, which is false.

I guess I can kind of understand leaving out some African/Middle Eastern accents because a lot of English speaking people find their accents hard to understand - but even some British, Australian, or European characters would have been nice. It’s not a big deal, but it’s something I noticed while playing and it irked me a little bit.

Dose it really matter? Truthfully dosent really matter. You play the game for fun not because of accents.

343 Do all the character accents in Russian next game or I will be very un happy 8(

The developers are American and most Americans only see and care about Americans.

It didn’t surprise me but it is painfully, painfully obvious in this installment. H3, for example, featured very few American accents. It seemed most of the accents were Australian, which is fine by me. A nice, well-appreciated change.

“Dose it really matter? Truthfully dosent really matter. You play the game for fun not because of accents”.

I play the game for fun but almost every game, much of the Western world’s media and far too much else is overly saturated by Americans. Sad to see an exception, and a high-profile one at that, be sucked in. The American accents and American-inspired game world do limit my enjoyment of the game.

“LOCK. This thread is RACIST against white people. Really OP? Don’t post if your a white American?”.

Read and comprehend. It’s good for you. Also, crying ‘racism against white people’ is tragic, though amusing.

The story and backstory are part of the fun.

LOCK. This thread is RACIST against white people. Really OP? Don’t post if your a white American?

You are so right… I guess I can’t play this racist, nationalist, American game anymore.

O by the way OP I’m an American citizen and I get screwed over by my government. My taxes have gone up 30% and I make just over poverty. Can I get help here

NO

So don’t act like its White Americans that ruined your game experience.

I was going to say polar bear but then realised their not really native to both contries (just in zoo’s), maybe an albino squirrel?

I’d say it’s probably as at some point the Americans nuked anyone who they didn’t like the accent of. Also, isn’t earth meant to be mostly Oriental? (don’t quote me on that)

I’m Yellow Chinese.

Not offended or annoyed. Kinda expected this anyway…

CoD comparison threads = LOCKED

This Thread = STILL AROUND!

How? What is happening?!

Let’s see…the developer is American.

Mystery solved. It’s a game, who cares?
