Unit upgrading

So far in the first beta and videos of halowars gameplay that I have seen, units have a max of two upgrades and some do not even have any.
My hope is they kept the halo wars 1 system of 3 upgrades for each unit.
Does anyone know yet how many we’ll be getting ?

I really don’t care. More upgrades allow for a more diverse selection of unit usage, but fewer upgrades allow for a more streamlined style of play. Halo Wars did it pretty well (aside from UNSC super units), but if CA thinks it should be scaled back, I’m not going to question them.

I think there should be more upgrades yes i hate only haveing so few it really lessens units individuality and forces you into a certain playstyle

Yeah I get what you’re saying. But I feel units lose their uniqueness.
Unless some serious balancing happens units like the unsc sniper compared to the elite rangers is by far unfair, for both anti-infantry the sniper has upgrades making it invisible and do so much more damn damage where as I found the elite ranger to do considerably less and be so much weaker with not one upgrade to balance it out making it almost a pointless unit to make. But it was the beta so still hoping they at least kept that one halowars feature.

I spoke with a friend it would be cool but highly unlikely, if they were to allow 2 upgrades but a split upgrade tree of 2 choices for unit upgrades. Eg. A choice between the hunters beam cannon or ability to shoot air units. But that’s just a thought.

Yes I prefer more upgrades to diversify games
