I have been playing firefight for sometime on Reach casually. Recently I have been playtesting a gametype that can make firefight intresting. The game in my fileshare needs some tweeking and playtesting. I even have some gameplay of that game called Covenent VS Spartan. This is my suggestion for something unique and new into Firefight. I recommend 2v2 on Normal preferrably Heroic.
COVENENT VS SPARTAN V1
Gameplay in firefight normal
Here are some stats:
Players move slightly faster than in game.
Spartans have good shields, probably 5-10 lives, and greater shooting damage.
Loadouts 2 grenades:
Jetpack Magnum and Rockets
Sprint DMR and Assault Rifle
Armor Lock Grenade launcher and Shotty
Hologram Sniper and magnum
Drop Shield Assault Rifle and Magnum
Elite players have damage resistance and less that 5 lives.
30 second respawn with loadouts 2 stickies:
Jetpack Plasma Repeater and Grunt Needler
Evade (testing Needler Rifle only)
Camoflauge + Energy Sword only
Armor Lock Plasma Repeater and Plasma Rifle
Sprint Concussion Rifle with Plasma Pistol
Waves- Starting are random either Elites, Skirmishers or Grunt+Jackal.
Everything else builds to a fairly challenging boss round.
The goal is to survive basically for a set time. Alternating sides is once.

Thanks for the welcome. Soon I will do an intro for myself. I am relocating to my former hometown up North this month. Anyway, I have been testing this game for about a month alone(bummer yea 25 friends on my list and none play Firefight much). Another thanks I have to shout out is to Ultimate_RC or MasterRC. Without those videos on youtube of the state of firefight I might not have got to this. I enjoy new Halo content!
Going to revise this as soon as I can get suggestions. Mostly it’s tight and well fit for what I have played. More about that below
On Heroic: If you get A.I. Elites on the open spawn about 5 DMR shots take the ultras shield down. The Player Elite takes about the same. Because of the mobspawn helping them. Spartans take two charged pistol bolts from the plasma pepper gun at full OS. Arcadefight settings are what make this happen.
Will infinite ammo be on or off?
And can weapons be picked up from fallen enemies?
I think it’d be a great addition to a Firefight Versus playlist!
However, there are a few things that I wish to comment on. Spartans have greater shooting damage, yet the Elites have damage resistance? Wouldn’t those two just cancel each other out? And, as TragicFigure7 mentioned, is this with infinite ammo on or off, with the ability to pick up weapons from fallen enemies? Also, will there be weapon drops for both sides?

In player versus player both of these do cancel out. However, I found the PP charge lessened. Elites need two good shots or one + combonation. No infanite ammo for this gametype and famine. No weapon drop and am going to make a 2nd whole different gametype for that.
If this can become a playable playlist there has to be some variety. Right now, this one is made to mock Arcadefight.
There will be more crazies to come. I plan on making a good camo 50 lives SPARTAN VS NINJA GAME!

This is supposed to be a basic ‘Lone Wolf’ setting. Right now with 2x overshields Spartans have the advantage. In any ammo based firefight even ODST you will have to pick up covenent guns at one time(unless you are Duke and play on easy meleeing everything). I plan to test a 2nd version with Weapon Drop. Covenent vs Spartan V2 and SPARTAN vs NINJA are what I’m banking on to expand our Firefight online.
I don’t know if this will need a separate playlist. However, with the state of firefight a 2nd slot with these would be pretty good!

It’d probably have to be a separate list - when people go into Firefight they expect to be fighting online AI. To suddenly be fighting against humans would break that expectation.

As to the 2nd part: Bummer I read something that we are running out of playlists to add to Reach.

Yeah, Famine would be a killer. But it would make it to where every shot would have to count, thereby adding a bit more to the uniqueness of the gametype.

Thanks I will fix that. Also, I am uploading a new video better gameplay of Covenent Vs Spartan gameplay. This is a 2v1 and it does show that even on Normal the odds really are fair to skillfull players(well I’m not that skilled). With that play my preference of this game has changed to Normal. Originally I wanted this to be set in Heroic and that will work if I can get another type of game to this.
Edit: There appears to be a problem with my fileshare. I couldn’t get to them. Also, with Bungie phasing out support it may have something to do with that.
EDIT 2: I cannot even get to my Bungie Halo Reach profile via errors. Unknown exceptions or things that have to do with this News item.
