unidentified armors

most (well actually all (at the time of me writing this)) of these armors are Mark IV variants. if there are any that I missed or are non-mark IV that I didn’t mention, please let me know.

to start:

the Mark vi- like variant worn by Fred, Solomon, and Arthur (Halo Legends)

Mark vi-like variant worn by the chief, you know which one I’m talking about (Halo Legends, Forward Unto Dawn)

that weird one seen in the background of the Fall of Reach movie. this on: File:Mark IV helmet unknown fishbowl.png - Halopedia, the Halo wiki

the air assault with the kneepad on the face (Forward unto dawn)

If I missed any (I know I missed a few) please let me know

I believe you literally just identified them. Variants don’t often have names because they are customized by the Spartans that use them.

Seems you already defined them, they are just variants of the respective armors.

I didn’t define them, im just going by what the wiki called them

Then thats probably what they are. MJLONIR was a fluid heavily modular design thanks to Materials Group’s constant work on the platform.

So this is the thing with the ‘variants’ that you’ve referenced. As it was explained by Grim and has been corroborated by Halseys Journal, most of the Mark IV ‘variants’ weren’t new armour types but rather ad hoc technologies overlayed atop the base techsuit depending on the operation parameters and other specific personal preferences. So because they were developed and implemented on an as required basis Halsey rarely found a need to give them an official classification until LOGCOM stepped in and mandated it at which point she simply slapped them universally under the Mark system just to keep logistics happy. So outside the Mark IV none of them have a name other than either a long 12 digit Logistics Requisition code or B a loose nickname for them like air assault or CQB etc.

A designation of whatever the suit was particularly designed for yes. I think some of them had letter variants at some point?

I know that Mark IV had gone through many stages and variations, its just that none of them have proper identifications

Actually I wonder if the lettered variants was just their in house name for the armour ‘variant’ (that you’d use to search up the schematics) and it just became the official variant. Cos you’re right a few of them have been named (including the precursor to Commando if memory serves).

Actually that makes a lot of sense, as before the Rouge variant Materials Group did all MJLONIR testing, production and refinement. No need for an external referencing system, no one else is looking.
