It makes me mad that this skin was only intended for bragging right’s obtained from dumb luck even though I wanted that as well. I am very bummed to have not gotten it this community playdate on a holiday in which I could’ve spent being somewhere else but I preferred to have a chance at an elusive skin for my favorite franchise, my mistake I guess. The fact that I have tried about 5 times trying is ridiculous. I am not going to lie I am one of those whiners but this isn’t a whining thread even though the start sort of is (I know i’m contradicting myself it’s intended to be that way).
But there needs to be a more fair way that will still sort of make it a rare thing for an example I see no flaws that are major with what i’m about to present in the second example (which is why I need other peoples opinions). If you’ve been to lots of community playdates and have watched the streams for most of the duration you should be entitled with an increased chance ( I know this is a major flaw as there is no way to increase the chances of one player being able to match a game with anyone) or something to where it gives you an advantage for giving more of your time and dedication to this specific skin. If i’ve been to let’s say 10 playdates and have not gotten the skin would it be fair when someone got it on their first ever playdate? there should be some leniency towards those who have tried more often than someone who’s done it once.
Don’t compare this to a lottery as that’s not what the skin should be looked as, a prize from luck with no meaning. Also my first point doesn’t contradict what I just stated. But what are your opinions? I bet i’m the minority in this anyways and I should suck it up or go play another game.
Maybe one thing they can do is anyone who has ever played with 343 or against them since the game came out could get the skin instead of just during the play date
Kinda like the emblem I rock, it’s not that it’s amazing, it’s just that everyone wants something that most other people don’t have. That’s it’s purpose, it helps to generate hype and help keep the game alive and populated. It’s a good thing

What? Your emblem IS amazing! I can’t seem to finish those last two Breakout commendations. If/when I do that will be my forever Halo 5 emblem.
Anyway, in response to the OP, I really don’t understand why you would forego spending time with friends or family to try, for the sixth time, for a skin that you already know is near impossible to get. Also with this being your favorite franchise you should know that 343 doesn’t want us feeling entitled.
There is no way to monitor who has been to how many play dates. Even if they were to have them all on stream, which I think they’ve only had 2, anyone can log in and just walk away. Why would that be a good idea?
The only thing I hope they do is have a different format for the playdate. Have a lobby that they invite players who have messaged them at some point, they play one or two games, and then move onto the next group. This is how they did them back in the Reach days. Plus we were able to talk to them. They were a lot of fun, and more about the community aspect than a weapon skin. I have been asking them to revert back to this format since they started doing these in Halo 5.
I understand your point but disagree for this skin the point imo for the play dates is to create a bit of fuss get players on playing h5 chasing a reward and talking about halo 5 on social media keeping some latest news and relevance to an aging game. But I do really like the idea of skins for certain things like you mentioned… how about a skin just for people that give a lot of feed back on way point , one for attending a certain amount of streams or for completing certain legendary commendations think Achilles but for weapon skins , maybe skins for completing a certain amount of weekly monthly tasks etc etc the possibilities are endless
So I just looked over their game history from last night, and noticed that at least two players matched up with them more than once. So this was even more difficult than we previously thought. I think the real obstacle to overcome with this is the fact that the MMR is such a large factor even in the Social playlists.
I am not saying this is unfair it is just how this is working. I think the best way to combat this is to team up with players you know have a high MMR in whatever playlist you may be running that will help to match with them. Also running expanded could be a positive.
