So ive done a lot in my Halo 5 career. Level 150, halfway to 151. I’ve gotten 2 perfections I believe. Gotten a killionaire (grifball, but I’ll still take it). I’ve recently turned my attention to trying to get an unfrig. Still never hit a 30 or more spree, so I guess I should start there lol. Gotten a bunch of 25s.
Any thoughts, advice etc. with the warzone point system change to 2 point kills, this is a lot harder. I was rocking a Hannibal mantis and went 27-0 or something the other day…but the game finished. I think I might have been able to get it under the old point system.
the one thing I’m noticing/assuming is that you’re probably not going to get it all one way, eg. running up 30-40 kills in a vehicle, etc. at that point u become a target. There’s basically nothing you can do when your dominating in a vehicle and someone eventually pulls camo and crouch walks the entire time to you in order to board/kill you. You would have to have eagle eyes to notice them coming to u while your doing work in a vehicle…
anyway, thoughts on the unfrig and getting it in this day and age?

There are several strategies you can work on but with the new 2 kill point system you might still be able to get one. For regular warzone, escape from arc and skirmish on dark star are on my opinion the best maps to camp. What you need to keep secure is the garage and fortress and stay there. kill as many as you can while they come in and peek outside not too far from the base for more kills. get a very powerful weapon, i used the answer and whiplash. by just peeking out the armory you can get alot of kills but you need to start playing very aggressively at the begging avoiding deaths and building req energy. if your main focus is the unfrig, forget everything else (bosses, ect.) also be patient and try avoiding chase a kill that might just end up ruining your spree. if you are able to call the answer or another favorite weapon of yours also call an over shied or camo. that will help alot more. try avoiding vehicles, unless you are close to an unfrig then you can call a helios or hanibal wasp and stay on top of garage/fortress that way the enemy will not be able to laser of emp you.
keep in mind that warzone now a days is very hard to get a fair match, you might end up matching a full team and chances are your team mates are randoms that quit or simply are not good at the game.
thats just me, my personal preference: play smart, defensive and kill.

The only time I ever got one, I wasn’t trying until halfway through the streak. I got about 20 kills in a mantis and decided to try. I pulled a banshee ultra and finished it out.
There have been other times that I have gotten close and either choked or had something stupid happen (Spartan Charged through a wall at 38 kills)

I have an okay amount of unfrigs in warzone - close to 40 total. With that in mind, the best method to get and Unfrig would be being aggressive in a banshee. It’s difficult to get enough kills sniping for your unfrig these days because of the new point system. its possible with a sniper, especially with a nornfang.
My typical game style is to go balls to the wall with loadouts and mild weapon reqs. I only start worrying about my unfrig once I get my untouchable medal (25 kills without dying) and even then I dont really pay to close attention to my deaths. I’d rather get a win than an unfrig.
What I would do is either play conservative and sneaky like using camos with swords/Prophets Bane or use an Ultra Banshee like Heavies mentioned and pick my battles, retreat and then rinse and repeat.
I agree with other people here, the earliest you should start worrying about an unfrig is a rampage. The easiest unfrigs I’ve gotten have a very similiar pattern, a strong start right at the beginning of the game (under req level 3), then a wasp. At this point when I’m done with the wasp I’m usually on a rampage. After that pull a good vehicle suited for the map and situation and rack as many kills as possible. I either finish the unfrig with the good vehicle or I dump it and finish on foot with a power weapon.
It has actually been quite while since I cared about unfrigs. After I got 100 I just dropped them completely and I just try to use the fun not so over powered weapons on foot. It’s really a lot of fun for me to just happen to get an unfrig on foot playing super aggressively assaulting bases and yoinking bosses. I seem to be at 126 unfrigs atm so they still seem to come to me on their own. Not as frequently of course.
<p></p>if you try and use a vehicle to get an unfrig, prepare to be dissapointed. Unless you’re farming and your team can take lasers out, you’ll probably die.
People (myself included) enjoy taking the unfrig away from others.
I would recomend trying to get a paper banshee as quick as possible and then try get yourself to 20 kills. Ditch the banshee when you the enemies start pulling lasers or railguns.
After this, it’s hard to say what to do but a Helios works well. As does jorges chaingun and the nornfang
Got quiet a few in reach playing btb with my buddies. Granted i was designated snipped often enough everyone just let me have the sniper if there wasnt 1 specific person playing with us. Imagine would work the same here.
Also grifball if you get good at it, or zombies.
Yeah warzone seems to need a few stages to get there. Bunch of kills on foot, then sniping, then vehicle or whatever combination u like. I notice when u keep pulling all your kills in the same manner (sniper, heavy vehicle) u eventually get targeted because people hate being taken out the same way 2-3 times in a row.
