Unfrig / Killionaire

after playing this game for 2 1/2 years with more than 2400 games and 25 days of playing warzone, I still don’t have an unfrig or killionaire. the closest to an unfrig was 33 kills and the closest to a naire was the kilpoc (in grifball so doesn’t really count… does it?)
I consistently rank gold 5 / 6 in arena so I consider myself an average player. I generally solo queue so communicative teamwork isn’t an option.

so, my questions are…

 1. are there players out there that are at my skill level that have killionaires and or unfrigs
 2. is there any hope for me (or players at my skill level) to ever get the elusive naire or unfrig.
 3. any tips you may have?

just a side note, i have watched a lot of YouTube videos with Luke TheNotable, Prec, B Jaws, and all I can think of is “man, I wish the Spartans I played against stood still like that for me”

Yeah, isn’t that weird? Even in one on ones, the matches in the videos go ridiculously conveniently for the YouTuber. The enemy just… stands still.

Learn how to spawn camp in Grifball and you’ll get a killionaire. It works best when you’re working together with a teammate, so that you’ll be able to cover the spawns on both sides of the goal.

I have never tried for something like this. Especially warzone with 10 second respawn

I’m yet to get a killionaire but I was told the best place to do it was infection. Played a few games the other night and ended up with 3 killpocalypse (think that’s the name for 9 in a row)

I suggest going for the naire there. At least that’s what I’m going to do.

Unfrigs are simple in warzone and I suggest solo queuing for them. Unless you’re in a fireteam that actually farms.

For the 'Naire, it’s going to take a bit of luck and you to take advantage of the opportunity. Luke theNotable made a interesting video about it. The highest I’ve hit is a Killtastrophe in octagon, but only a Killtrocity in Arena/Warzone.

For the Unfrig, I’d say your best bet is to match some noobs in Warzone and get a vehicle. If the other team doesn’t REQ stuff in, you can probably steamroll them with a Hannibal Scorpion or a Helios pretty quickly.

I wouldn’t stress over this because getting those medals outside of grifball is kinda like winning the lottery. These aren’t medals you’ll earn playing opponents of equal skill. Your team has to overwhelm your opponents for you to have a chance at this. Also, I wouldn’t expect to have a chance until you have Onyx level skills.

Try Grifball or Infection!

I’m not that great, but I did get one in Warzone by:
(A) Killing AI at start of match to accelerate Req Leveling, and
(B) Sticking to flanking positions with short time-to-kill distance weapons (such as Blood of Suban, Whiplash, Endgame, and the coup de grace: Nornfang).

For killstreaks, staying alive is more important than winning the present engagement, so disengage and bravely run away whenever you feel the heat.

In WZ, it might help to call in a vehicle asap and continuously upgrade as your REQ level increases. Also try to hang around areas where AI bosses spawn at and learn the timing of it. They always attract a crowd of Spartans, making it easier for you to get that medal

I’ve only gotten 1 killionare but I’ve only started playing recently

I did this to get the kilpoc. but is it a legitimate naire?

I suck at infection, but hey, I might get a decent lobby sooner or later, right?

A bit of a demoralising response, but thanks for the honesty, so how do I improve to get to Onyx?

thanks for this. I do try this but my poor skill level means my flanks are worthless because I constantly get outgunned.
I will keep grinding away at this strat though.
on the power weapon front, I very seldom use all the ammo up. I feel like I have a beacon above my head marking my location…

Yea but I think it’s realistic. I don’t want you to punch your TV because you can’t achieve these medals at will.

I’m not Onyx but if I committed to that goal I would play a ranked playlist on a daily basis, watch the pros, work on accuracy, and get a team.

Do you play FFA? You could get to Onyx that way but I find FFA really frustrating. Besides FFA, I think you have a slim chance getting to Onyx solo because your team has to win.

I have recently been playing FFA again and have done about 8 of the placement matches. i get destroyed when playing anyone better than diamond 1. I also play on default button layout but i cant seem to change to a bumper jumper or hell jumper layout - muscle memory. maybe this has a part to play.
