I’ve noticed that when I play multiplayer on 4v4 slayer, or any other game type. I can unload my entire gun into an opponent, and he still lives to fight another day, but if the player shoots me 4-5 time usually, I die. I was wondering if this is some known issue or if I am just that bad. lol.
I know that my sights are right on the target when I shoot them, and when I get killed and watch the killcam the other persons sights are usually about 6-12 inches to the right or left of me, but the rounds are still hitting me.
Just wondering what the deal is, as it kind of makes me not want to play. Thanks in advance for pointing out my noob-i-tude, and explaining the reasoning to me.
Kill-cam is off to… by alot at times
I haven’t played in a long time so this could all be wrong.
I’m pretty sure the killcam isn’t accurate as far as where the reticle is.
Weapon spread maybe your problem. Try firing in quick bursts.
Also, bullet magnetism is off the charts in this game. Might explain what you’re seeing in killcams.
So even though it shows me that the bullets are hitting their intended target, they might not be?
That would explain a lot, as I tend to just unleash the weapon and not use bursts.
Its best not to trust kill cams. Watched many where im being shot and my shilds are being hit yet their way off.
Must be your connection or something of the sort. My bullets land where my gun is aiming, no problems there.
When I shoot it shows the person being hit, but still I use a whole clip, or charge, and the person is still standing. They shoot me a handful of times and I’m toast. Just a bit confusing. Is there a bonus for hitting the head, say versus any other part of the body?
> Lag+Latency=frustration.
This is most likely the cause. Been there many a times and it can really be annoying and frustrating. I usually stop playing at this point and play a bit of Black Ops since its the only FPS I enjoy other than Halo.
Alright, well it looks like an upgrade to the internet is in order and see if that helps at all. I play BF3 and there is no problems there, so not sure why the halo servers would be so picky.
First of all, What weapon is giving the inconsistency? The Assault rifle will only kill in one clip within close range and the assault rifle gives no bonus for headshots.
In fact, when shields are active on the opposing player headshots from any weapon bar the sniper rifles give no headshot bonuses.
The DMR and BR require a headshot when shields are depleted to quickly finish the target off otherwise it will take 4 to 5 body shots to kill them.
Finally, do you experience much player teleporting/warping around?
Toss a grenade and if there is a considerable delay between pressing LB and the grenade leaving your hand this is a sign of ping delay. If neither of these occur often, your connection should be ok and killing people should not really be a problem.
sorry that should say LT not LB.

How Matchmaking Works - A Basic Overview. It isn’t always your connection but where the host is.
You’re not getting the final headshot. Aim for the head after the shields pop.
And don’t use the kill cams as a reference to anything other that what weapon they used to kill you and where that person is. I have never seen an accurate kill cam in this game or really any other game with a kill cam.
Pro Tip: 4 to the body and 1 to the head is the same as 5 to the head or 8(?) to the body. This is for the DMR which you should get better at using because it dominates pretty much every other non-power weapon.
I usually use the storm rifle, as it will put out a lot of bullets before requiring a cooldown. So I guess it comes down to, because only very rarely do I see people teleporting around the screen, and the grenades fly out as soon as I hit the LT, are there weapons that are better at taking down shields? Is my trusty storm rifle not the best weapon for multi?

That explains your problem. Are you new to Halo? It’s not like CoD or BF. You can’t shoot someone twice in the foot and get a kill. Practice with precision weapons like the DMR and BR. Spray and pray won’t get you far in this game.

Ahh, ok I was wondering about the DMR and BR. So try to start taking the shield down and finishing with a headshot? Since the killcam is worthless this may be what people are doing to me, only I can’t see it.
Kill cams are just bad in this game.
Period!!!
Another tip: Headshot, HEADshot, HEADSHOT!
Even with auto weapons, aiming for the head means a faster takedown.
Precision weapons can get a kill in 5 shots. The Covi Carbine takes more, but fires faster, so it results in a similar killtime.
THough I HAVE been in quite a few matches where a player mows our entire team down with nothing but a Storm Rifle…without stopping, and no overheating…
There is one little saying I go by when in a games MP; there are ALWAYS cheaters in videogames. SO there’s always the possibility that someone is hacking, but not that doesn’t mean they are.

Yep. With the DMR 4 body shots and one final head shot will get the kill. As of now the DMR is your best friend at almost any range.
