I tried to get the LE, honestly, I did, but they were ‘sold out’. Instead, I bought the standard edition, picked it up at midnight and immediately bought the war games pass. I bought into their marketing and spent a decent amount on pepsi products so that I can level faster. Now, I can’t help but feel like I’m being punished.
Here’s what gets me bummed: my friends get to keep leveling up, but I can’t. That seems unfair. I’m also playing against other Spartans that have access to specializations that I don’t. That seems unbalanced. And now, because I don’t want to waste my commendation xp, I’m sitting out from playing Halo 4. That seems unfun.
I can’t imagine the rage of someone that would have bought the $350-400 console, being the hard core Halo fan they are, and then being told they aren’t allowed to level past 70 because they didn’t get the LE.
I also feel especially bad for the people opening Halo 4 for Christmas, who will continue to face level caps until each specialization is released, one-by-one.
Maybe I’m seeing this all wrong. Is there a reason 343 is allowing some people access to certain specializations and not everyone else? For me, who is about to go play a different game, I can’t figure it out.

A guide to 343’s thinking:
“Oh you bought the standard edition because we didn’t release enough limited editions? You paid slightly less than everybody else? Then TOUGH, your opinion and experience doesn’t matter. Yeah all that stuff about “Preserving the integrity of ranking system” was a lie, LE owners paid us extra, so obviously the integrity doesn’t apply to them”
Been level 70 for over a week…bought the consol and a regular copy from overseas for the locus helm…didn’t wanna spend anymore on an extra LE copy…so now I wait…hope tomorrow being Monday they will be back in the office to send them out.
All I know is this Level capping is reminding me how much fun BF3 is since that’s what I’m playing while waiting for the code. If Microsoft thinks this is going to get me to buy the LE next time for Halo 5 they’re sadly mistaken. If anything they’re making me question the validity of purchasing any H4 DLCs in the future.
This whole thing was done poorly and just a slap in the face to the fan base.
You have people like yourself stuck at 70 and essentially wasting their time playing because of the 100’s of thousands of XP they’re not being given.
You have the Euro players who are screwed out of the dbl xp promotion because of their geographic.
If there’s anything for us (and I am) to be pissed about it’s the way this is all being done.
What would be their saving face? Well…credit all the players who are stuck at 70 all that experience they have earned. Can it be done? Yup! Will it be some work? You bet…but THAT is called customer service.
This wouldn’t be an issue if there wasn’t the Mt. Dew dbl XP promotion they’re running because you have to stick a LOT of time into the game to make the 150k xp cap they currently have. With the dbl xp, you’re talking 14-18 games and if you add the SR rank up perk you’re talking 12 games to go over 150k. (yes it’s 13k per spartan ops match with dbl xp and SR rank up)
They stated what was in each edition of the game.

I spent the same on teaches console. I didn’t grip about the dlc that I didn’t get. I got legendary too. But that’s not the point.
Just because you paid more. Does not mean you get more. Logic being that’s life. And you are only getting a standard edition game.
Should have bought a standard slim Xbox then limited. If the stores ran out then its not 343i’s fault.

Grow up life is not fair. I never cried when games used to release weeks earlier overseas or cried over free dlc or anything like that I delt with it by not caring because I knew -Yoink- happens. Did I ever rais a -Yoink- storm over a Japanese title of a show/game that never released in murica? Nope because that’s life.
Dew double xp. That’s a corporation type thing. Lots of deals and even payments made that you probably know nothing about. It basically is "we sign this we want sole rights to advertise your game on our products in this manner. It’s the same with ea and slim Jim products.
I bought le of the game for all the special stuff it had.
You bought a limited consol for $400 that came advertised with a standard edition game.
Ps3 does this and Xbox does this.

343 can’t have seperate double xp stuff for every region/country. The costs would be more than what the company could afford. Just because its a small part of ms does not mean they have ms funding they are essentially on their own.
all the specializations should have been in the game in the first place…limited edition should have gotten special and different armors …but everyone should have had access to all specializations since it gives players a distinct advantage in actual game… even more so being able to rank up past 70…we spent 60 bucks for a full game not 85% of one…

The specializations are no better than any other Support upgrades or tactical packages. They are just different.
except that once the communitty gets to 1million kills all of the specs will be unlocked for everybody, was this a poorly done idea? yea, but does it make it unbalanced and unfair, nope. the extra little perks are not that much, they are not suppose to game changing things just extras.

I agree with most of this thread. I’m not at the cap, and I won’t be for a while, but I’m still waiting for the codes to unlock the other specializations. The two that were shoved down my throat aren’t ones I was after…
I’m glad I’m so busy with homework, classes, and Zone Of The Enders HD, or I’d hate this game even more than I do now. The game is unbalanced, but I think it is still fun. As for fairness, I’ve never been one to complain about whether something is fair or not. If I can win matches 3v8 in Big Team with my friends, I can overpower nublits using unfair tactics or advantages.
