Has anyone experienced like uneven matches of feel that the matchmaking is been unfair?
Depends on what the population looks like at whatever time you’re searching for matches. The game can only make fair matches if people of similar ranks are available and searching at around the same time. Otherwise, lopsided matches may occur as a result of that criteria not being met.

All the time bro. Population is a huge issue…and honestly the unfair matchmaking makes quiting happen so much more. Who wants to be a high plat or low daimond player going up against onyx and champs? It happens. Sometimes way to often. Sometimes as frustrating as it is for players to leave…I totally understand why. Sometimes people get an hour of free time. That hour that woulda been dedicated to halo 5 ends up less than 15 minutes sometimes because it becomes very apparent the entire hour may feel more or less the same. Lopsided matches that usually aren’t in your favor.
I’ve quit halo 5 and came back a few times for this reason. It’s made me contemplate quiting halo altogether very often…the new halo is delayed now…idk how much more of this some of us can take…I’m sure I’m not alone when I say we were excited the new one was just around the corner…sadly it no longer is. I just hope we still love halo enough to play it when the time comes as this matchmaking makes it unplayable sometimes. I wish there was a population counter so I can just see if it’s worth playing or not at times.
I know I’m also thinking of quitting and it’s frustrating because I’ve been playing since halo 3 I think until halo 4 on Xbox 360 and I’ve never experienced something like this sometimes I get with players that don’t move until they’re kicked out or players that have high ranks and play bad on purpose everyone quitting and making you wanna quit and the sad part is that you complain about it and the answer is that everything works fine

I don’t sometimes is not the rival team are the teammates that are quitting, just standing there waiting to get kicked out or just playing bad on purpose

Smurf accounts are common, but the system knows your skill level and matches you accordingly within a couple of matches, so that doesn’t really help them match Lower ranked players.

Im definitely not geting infinite ill still play h5 until it comes out but thats only cause i play with a friend and thats the only game he plays.

Not getting it because it looks like something you won’t like? I won’t be “getting” it if it releases on xbox one still. In terms of actually paying for it because it will be free to game pass users so I won’t actually have to spend any money. If it becomes next gen only (which I actually just read an article suggesting it’s a now high possibility it can become next gen only) I may not get it at all.
Halo is the game I upgrade for. I was relieved it will be available on xbox one when the news about that came because I don’t want to possibly spend all kindsa money on 1 game I might end up really disliking. Now that I’ve just read that they’re factoring in the xbox one port causing the delay to be more severe with problems like asset loading and getting higher than 900p…man idk if I want to consider upgrading until the games been out for awhile and if it actually has a high population retention since the only thing I’ll probably play is multiplayer.

I’m close to my breaking point. At times it almost feels like the games matchmaking is punishing me for actually playing ok in a competitive match…its like oh, we detected a player that’s getting good fair matches. Let’s throw him some teams that have a way higher win loss ratio than him. Let’s throw some bored onyx and champs that way even though this players nowhere near getting onyx in any playlist…Let’s make this player feel like uninstalling the game.
It’s gotten to the point where sometimes I just idle and stare at my screen and wonder if I even want to keep my xbox. I idle and just allow the other team to win and kill me. It’s sometimes so apparent that the match is lopsided it’s like dude…what’s the point of trying?

I was so excited we were getting a new halo this year…then that got scrapped and we don’t even know when the heck it’s going to be released now. Next year is so vague…no indication of what quarter or anything…
We get it. The population is low…but I prefer getting a timed out message over a horrible horrendously lopsided match though…at that point I would decide to not play. Save myself of souring my entire night filled with nothing but frustrating experiences.
I wish I could just fire the game up and go into 1 social mode that has all the h5 maps in it, even the ones that got removed at some point, and some objective modes in it as well. It completely sucks that when I want to play unranked slayer I have to go into quickplay where theres only 3 freakin maps…
My main frustration is getting paired with brand hammer new players. By that I mean the margin of skill between the two is significant. I’ll get 12-17 kills and one of the newer guys will get 1/10 KD. It’s infuriating. I understand it’s unavoidable but this happens multiple times a night.

They should do something in the new halo game because in halo 5 ranked the matches start 3v4 a lot of the times and you are supposed to have a fair match when you are down a player instead of just ending the match and getting back to the lobby

It’s hilarious to read this right now. I literally won 2 games…and immediately this stupid game puts me on a team where I’m the lowest ranked player with a champ, an onyx, a daimond 4, and me a plat 5 against 3 onyx and a daimond 4…wth does this system expect me to do? Is it putting me there as a freakin meat shield? God man this crap just frustrate me. I cant have but 2 damn matches before my sessions just ruined by this match making.
Again…another Match of everyone being onyx, champs, smurfs…and me…the 1 lone player who isn’t even daimond in team arena. I can probably edit this reply each match I get and all I’d be doing is saying the same exact damn thing over and over.
Most of the other players have champ in other playlists as well…that’s a huge skill discrepancy…I try my best but jesus christ man do the dev’s know at all how we feel?..do they just want everyone to quit?
Or here’s probably the best idea…do what other players do…make a smurf acct…place as low as possible…and have fun at the lower skilled players expense. Can’t beat the system…join it…
Right now I’m trying to make friends and join a spartan company. I’ve already talked to other players that feel the exact same way I do. At least when you lose a match with friends sometimes you’re still having a good time with other players…even with this games low population and horrible match making…
Sometimes I feel this way too. Currently I’d just say the matchmaking is inconsistent. Last week I ranked D2 in Slayer and almost hit D3. Nearly every match I was playing against Diamond players exclusively. This week I’ve been getting a lot of Platinum and Onyx players in my matches, heck I’ve even seen a few Gold players.
It can be discouraging, especially when your teammates can’t play at the same level. I’ve lost my last 12 games, 3 of which were lost 49-50 and another one was lost 47-50. Now I’m ranked P6, down 3 ranks in just 3 or 4 days.

Couldn’t agree more with you sometimes I win like one game lose 20 then win lose another 10 and is sad to say about the developers I can say they dint care because I complaint to them and they told me there’s nothing wrong I was even banned from submitting tickets because according to the matchmaking works perfectly

It’s super discouraging when tour other teammates don’t play properly the saddest part is that I’ve encounters those players being high ranked ones the ones that should be guiding the team and playing good are the ones that don’t do anything
Problem is with low populations player skill balance kinda of can’t happen or matches wouldn’t be created.
If its unfair it typically wont be counted against you too harshly, unless there is somebody smurfing on the opposing team.
