Okay… There is one particular thing between the hundreds of things I disagree about Halo 4 that is really unfair in my opinion.
I have the Limited Edition and I have the seasson pass for the map packs, so this actually doesn’t affect me. But are you telling me that they will sell the 3 maps that have been designed from the very first of the release of the game as a DLC to the players? Actually this is a very big THEFT in my opinion, I have the maps in the Forge mode.
This is bad 343i… And I’m sure you have the other 6 maps also created and ready to be sold.
While it is understandable that they do this, like every other game, a way to make more money.
What is really messed up, is the fact that they didn’t have more maps in the beginning. It is ok to have pre made maps to later release… but it is sad that we have to go into Slayer and play the same 4 maps over and over and over again.
The first map pack isn’t on the disk.
That 108kb download is a key so you can get the maps for free when they release.
Don’t you know how season passes work?
The only problem with this post is that some idiot seems to have told the poster that The 3 map packs are already on the disks, when in reality they arent even out of development yet.
one word: Gullible.
The season pass allows you to download the maps when they are released from the xbox live arcade without you having to purchase them with microsoft points. Thats how a season pass works. Just because the Limited edition came with the season pass does not mean the DLC maps are on the disk.

This.
It’s not like Gears of War 3 where they actually had some maps on the disk that you had to ‘buy’ to play. This is a small file telling the game that when FUTURE map packs that they have planned come out, you will get them free. It also promises that there will be at least 3 map packs of 9 maps.
Let me repeat that for the OP. FUTURE map packs.
You always have to buy map packs when then come out. Think about halo 3 and Reach, they announce them along side concept art, and months later they reveal working versions of them for pictures/videos, then at some point release the map pack. That’s the exact same thing as this, they have shown the concept art for their first map pack that they have not yet finished making.
The only difference is that people who payed more for the game (or bought the pass) will get these eventual map packs for free, when they are created post-launch.
It’s more of a gamble to the people who bought the pass/LE, to be honest. You have to assume, before the game is out, that it will still be going strong as a title to even warrant you wanting the map packs when they eventually come out.
I think OP thinks that the 3 maps that are not in matchmaking are new, and unique to limited edition. Everyone has those. They are just not in any form of matchmaking playlist yet.

Yup, actually that was it, my fault. Anyways I thing this is an interesting theme to talk about.

Wait… how do you have the maps in forge, im confused.
Indeed Pre-release made DLC is very common when it comes to games now days that’s one of the reason why this console generation is the worst so far. And I don’t think that it will change to the next generation.
They will perhaps start to announce the DLC before they announce the game itself in the future
