Three Bumper Buttons on each side and they are programmable. This way we could program the AAs and Sprint to the additional bumpers. Who might consider buying this controller?
Only one button on each side is programmable. They make little extra difference and the controller breaks really easily. I had mine for 2 months before the left thumbstick got messed up.
I ordered mine as I wasn’t 100% happy with any of the controller layouts from 343i. There is just too many game mechanics for the controller and the extra bumpers as the best gameplay-wise for me.
They’re official so there’s no cheating like a modded controller for example but I get what you’re saying mate.
I have it and its a really awesome controller though it does have some problems with it, like 15ft cord, clicking down on the left thumd stick trying to crouch on halo reach doesn’t stay crouch when moving forward., but overall its still to me replaces the offical xbox controller.
I already have one, originally bought it for Reach. I never really adjusted to the extra bumpers. It’s up to how you hold the controller, but for me, as I only have one finger for all the buttons on the left side, I had hard time reaching for the second bumper. In the end, the whole controller was only beneficial for Jetpack and as I ended up using sprint most of my time, it felt really redundant.
However, I don’t think the extra buttons are the only justification to buy the controller. The analogue sticks are of much higher quality than on any other controller I have used. Aiming with it feels much better than with a normal controller.
Looks like a goof controller. Ill probably read some reviews on it. I feel like 3 bumpers may be too much but I wouldn’t really know until I had it in my hands.
grenade shoot
sprint AA
jump beatdown
Thinking about it, I wish xbox would release a similar version. But we all know xbox and video game developers stance on giving players the ability to customize their controls.

Would you consider yourself to be rough with the controller? Any big falls or just quick wear and tear?

No, I take good care of my stuff. Anytime something does drop my heart skips a beat. All I ever did was use the thumbstick pressures and altered them. Main difference was applying a lot of pressure for Fighting games since the D-Pads usually don’t work and I find the “requirement” of purchasing an arcade stick to be stupid.
So the simple solution is for Microsoft to provide a controller which is fully customizable. I have a great idea here but I fear it is ideas like this that would make me rich.
I have one of these controllers in Mass Effect 3 Collectors style, they are pretty nice but definately dont work as well as the traditional controller style that Microsoft makes, atleast not for Halo in my opinion.
I’d buy it if the trigger weren’t so uncomfortable, the first one I bought the triggers just annoyed the hell out of me and I don’t really want to buy another one because of them.
Also the durability of these controllers are bad (Atleast when playing Super Meat Boy :P).
> halo 4 just needs button mapping its not that difficult.
True but It’s time consuming as hell and I think 343 would want more quality and testing in other parts of the game then constantly test hundreds of thousands of controls.
I have had one of these controllers for awhile and there are only 2 programmable bumpers, 2 regular bumpers and obviously the triggers. Personally I think its a great controller, but it does break pretty easily… I have been through 3 now, and only one of them breaking was due to raging… Also the rubber on the sticks comes off pretty easily i wish that could be fixed… One more thing the first 2 i went through were terrible, but then the next 2 were alot better they did something to make the controller more durable, but not enough. Although razer replaced them for free i just opened my new one a few weeks back.
So all in all… I like the controller but not the durability, i think ill get my next 2 replaced and sell them and get a halo 4 controller. Which means ill have to drop bumper jumper if i want to use armor abilities… sigh… or… illl just grow an extra fing er to hit the X!!!
Eh, the Razer Onza sounds quite unappealing. My original Xbox 360 controller, purchased in late 2007, is still perfectly functional today, the only sign of age being the worn out surfaces of the analog sticks. A regular controller with a 5+ year lifespan vs a customizable controller with a 2-3 month lifespan? Easy choice for me.

The sticks feel very smooth and I’m hoping to prove that it’s the user that determines the controller’s lifespan, not the controller.
As a reminder, H4’s BJ with the Onza allows the AA to go on the PLB and you can keep sprint where it lays.
You can have your JP or other AA and have your cake too.
I’m using B on PRB for Reach’s BJ, I could see Y being a ranger’s preference for that one.

Ditto. Take our advice. The onza is a huge pile of -Yoink-.
