Unequipable gear.

Hey everyone,
Yesterday I was playing and I opened up a gold pack while loading a match. I got a legendary emblem and helmet and also a dmr skin, unfortunately I lagged out and it kicked me back to the main menu right after. Now if I go to customize my spartan those items do not appear, so I can’t equip them. If I go to my collection scream they show up as unlocked though. I can equip them from there but as soon as I back out from that menu a screen pops up that says sync profile error. and then my spartan defaults back to the previous look.

In short, I unlocked the gear and nw can not equip it. Has anyone else run into this problem or know of a fix.

Thanks, and happy 15th XBL.

Try turning your Xbox off and then on again, maybe?

Tried that a few times with no luck. I’ve also played about 10-12 matches since the time it happened just to see if it would pop up later, no luck there either.

Huh, that’s strange… My guess is that it comes down to server issues then. Everything, your armour and unlocks, are stored on the servers rather than on your console. I’m sure that everything will go back to normal after a while.

I had a similar problem a while back… Xbox (Halo) support team said “try clearing the Persistent Storage” to which I replied “what is it?”

You find it in Settings, Blu Ray, and it’s a storage of temporary stuff the Xbox uses to keep various bits of config and memory. I was assured it doesn’t clear anything important or essential but when mine glitched with REQs it kind of reset things so it had to re-load the REQ stuff from the server (as one poster said, all REQs are server stored).

Might work, it did for me. Fired up Halo after that and all good again.

Wow, definitely would not of thought of that one on my own. Sounds promising though, especially if you saw results from it.
I’ll give it a shot when I get home from work tonight. I’ll let you know how it works out.

Do a hard reset instead of the normal off on suggestion.

Agreed. That usually fixes any profile sync errors I have with Halo 5.

If the problem still persists, try out my fix:

  • Find your internet router / modem and turn it off. Unplug the power, too. - Wait at least 10 seconds. - Plug your router / modem back in, and turn it on. - Wait for a few minutes and you should have your connection back. - If you’re still having problems, repeat steps 1 - 4 until you hit the sweet spot.Hope this helps!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the advice from everyone. Oddly enough doing a hard restart did it for me and now I can use the helmet, emblem and dmr skin I unlocked. appreciate the input from everyone.

Nice. Glad it was sorted one way or the other, and easily too.
