Understanding Dominion and scoring

Greetings all,

I’ve been trying to play Dominion a bit more as of late and I have gotten thoroughly confused on how the game tracks score. In several matches, my team has been holding two bases but has been losing in point, a few times by a lot. In turn as the game progressed, the score did flip-flop but at that point we were down to one base.

I guess I am expecting that gaining a base to the point of resupply would be the big point-maker in the game but that doesn’t appear so. Is the point system still largely based on kills and assists?

yeah I have no clue man… I played one game to try it out and couldn’t understand what the hell was going on. Thankfully the game was over in like 4min so I just moved on.

So say you have those 2 bases, once the timer above them reaches 00 you get 30 points for each base. Each base is resupplied every 45 seconds, so if say A and B were captured by your team at the same time, you get 60 points every 45 seconds. And if a base hasn’t been captured yet, the initial capture is worth 10 points for your teams score. Hope this helped

This may not be completely accurate, but here’s what I’ve summed up:

  • 10 points for capturing the base.
  • 30 points each time the base’s resupply timer hits zero.
  • First to 400 wins.
  • If you capture all the bases at once, the enemy team goes into Last Stand until they capture a base.

Tips:

  • Hold more bases (obviously)
  • It’s not just about how many bases you have, but also when you resupply them.
  • Guard your bases when the timer gets close to zero
  • If an enemy’s base timer is high, it’s lower priority than one that is about to hit zero.

Hope that helps.

That clears things up a bit, thanks all.
