After the implementation of the updates to help high level players find matches faster I have been placed in horribly unbalanced teams. As a platinum ranked player I was consistently going against teams of onyx players. While higher ranked players may be finding matches faster, those at platinum are finding matches stacked against them. The epitome of my matchmaking experience this weekend comes down to a game that placed me at platinum 6 with a diamond 2, diamond 4, and an onyx against a team with a Champion 160, two onyx 1800’s, and a diamond 3. I love arena and I love going through the rank system but when I have to try and beat Champion ranked players just to reach diamond 1 the fun is taken out of the experience. The CSR based system to rank up starts to fall apart if matches are not based upon it. The CSR system should encourage close games instead of the unbalanced games that were appearing more frequently with the new priority on search times. I understand search times are important but the balance between search times and skill based matchmaking felt off this weekend.
