Unacceptable level of service for a live subscription game

What blows me away is that THE ENTIRE STUDIO goes on a holiday. I have never heard of any company that does that.

My Hubby made the same comparison. Imagine you buy a brand new Commodore, off the brochure. The car dealership gives you a call that it has arrived and to come down and pick it up. You get there, it has no doors, no windscreen, no seats, no bonnet and no boot. They tell you the windscreen will arrive in 3 months, the doors in 6 months, so you probably shouldn’t drive it in the rain. They offer you a milk crate to sit on, the seats will arrive in 9 to 12 months. As for the boot and bonnet, well you don’t REALLY need those, so they will arrive, when they arrive, sort of, don’t know, just whenever.
Since Boxing Day, here in Australia, we have had nothing but problems with Infinite. Now, I will admit that we are rural and the Australian Government built the NBN, so basically a pack of idiots put in our National Network, but, what we have experienced the last couple of weeks with Infinite is extremely poor, I have even heard my Hubby on two occasions now, swearing at the game. He has packed it up and walked away from it for the second time in three days. Melees where you go straight through the other player, like they are a ghost. The one that really got Hubby angry, was a Fiesta game with Gravity Hammers. He ambushed another player and clobbered them from behind, right on the head, nothing happened. The other player spun around and killed Hubby instantly, with their Gravity Hammer. He also made the remark that the Gravity Hammer must now have a 30 metre kill radius. He has been killed by other players with the Gravity Hammer, that don’t appear on his radar. I posted in another thread, that now DESYNC has been explained to me, it apperas as though it’s happening for us, in Rural NSW Australia, anyway, nearly every game.
P.S. I did want Hubby to get on Halo Waypoint and give a run down about what is happening, as he understands this a lot better than I do. He loves Halo, it’s the only game he makes some time to play nowadays, we are very busy with life. I bought him Halo for Christamas and feel a little disappointed that he’s now just packing it up. After I suggested he jump on here and give a rundown or do a ticket for support, he simply made some derogatory remarks about the Mods and some of the other posters and said he’s not using this site anymore.

Teammates often lag out and that leads to a loss and a drop in rank, then you lag out and that leads to an even bigger drop and a ban! 343 needs to address these issues, it’s making ranked very unenjoyable.

See the thing about what 343 considers “fun” is cheap stuff.

That’s why Spartan charge and ground pound was a thing in halo 5 because it offered that easy fast kill that gets addictive. People got just as frustrated as him as the people who got frustrated from the spartan charge.

Games shouldn’t have regulations just like any other product. What they say is what it comes with and there shouldn’t be a question of when. It’s either ship that game as a compelte product or delay it. Idk why they want to go through what cyberpunk went through. A delay is always better than a bare launch

Honestly as bad as Infinite is, there is no other game that I want to play. I just dont know anything else besides Halo, been playing 20 years. Its like a bad ex gf that you keep going back to lol

I guess I know what you’re saying but after how irritated I was with Halo 5…I just don’t want to spend 10 years hating on game like Halo Infinite and forcing myself to play it when the dev’s don’t seem to remotely care about their player base or respect them and that’s kind of depressing. I’ve been playing Halo for 20 years and I’m kind of confused about what to do and now I’m basically going through my backlog of games because I feel like I’ve had enough and 343i just don’t seem to care. :pensive:

I’m in the same boat. Halo is my go to game but after a few games of shots not registering and teammates quitting and playing game modes in ranked that I dont want to play, I just get bored. All I play is ranked so im in a bad spot, only team arena to play and when teammates crash they cant rejoin.

Regardless if it was the holidays or not, the game should not have launched the way it did. It also was out for a month prior so they’ve had enough time to address some if not a lot of the issues but hardly have, with the exception of adding a few playlists (that should have been there from the start). The amount of things in this game that isn’t there and/or doesn’t work is honestly just flat out shameful of 343 and the fact they don’t give us anything other than “We’re taking your feedback.” is to me getting to be unacceptable as it seems they are hardly doing anything with it or just flat out aren’t listening, at least the really important feedback like store fixes, server issues, customization/progression issues, etc. Christmas break is done and we are in the new year now and we haven’t heard anything (as far as I know) from 343 on any updates, fixes, anything really other than the Tenrai event stuff.

343 developers are bums. BTB is flat broken. They shouldn’t get to disappear for a month plus when multi-player is broken.

While I don’t agree with the principle of launching a bare bones game too early and filling in the features later, I don’t think the “wheel-less car analogy” really works.

When you buy a car, you should check carefully what you get before handing over your money. Didn’t they already make clear that Halo Infinite would launch without a lot of the staple features of the series? I’m not agreeing with that practice, but anyone should know that is the case. Plus, I’m guessing a load of people are playing it via Game Pass, so technically, you haven’t paid for anything directly (the shop items aside)

It’s like when people complain how Nintendo’s online service is so basic compared to the PS/Xbox… but neglect to mention it’s far far cheaper.

To modify an expression, if you pay peanuts (or nothing at all), you can’t really complain when you end up with monkeys…

They just need to fix BTB for now and I’d be happy.

I’ll be honest, I’m nothing short of astonished at the problems this game has considering the time it’s been in development and all the feedback they already had, and now we have had pretty much radio silence for weeks at a time. I have a job, I get three days off for Christmas (which is more than I normally get) then I’m back to grinding out full time in a kitchen, I don’t tell my customers they can’t eat because I’m having two weeks off after a busy year, it’s ludicrous, every year is busy, and this is my job.
This game has so little content and so many issues, it’s becoming impossible to justify spending any of my limited free time on it. The customisation just makes me angry and I’m not having that much fun playing the same few maps over and over again, and BTB isn’t even an option anymore. 343 have a few weeks at most to win me back or I’m done, and sadly that’s probably true for a lot of people

I see your points, but I just can’t bring myself to say 343 needs to work their butts off like it’s crunch time. Like yeah, they should work on adding things and fixing things, but I’d hate for it to be at the expense of the people working on the game. We don’t know what happens behind the scenes. If you want my opinion. I say that 343 should definitely add all the stuff we want in this game, but we need to have patience. You can call me crazy for saying to wait after six years for stuff we should’ve gotten at launch, but the fact of the matter is, we won’t be getting all these things right away.

One week into 2022 and all we’re looking for is a text update on any updates they’re working on. Until then the forums just gonna be regurgitating complaints.

I paid $99 AUD for the Infinite disc and we pay a monthly subscription to Microsoft. We have a lot of internet problems where we live. Internet is taken out due to floods, bushfires, wombats digging burrows, kids doing vandalism etc. etc. ( I kid you not, the entire internet between Sydney and Brisbane was taken out by some kids lighting a fire in the exchange at Taree, NSW, Australia, a couple of years ago )
My Husband only plays Halo. I thought I was doing the right thing, buying the disc so he could play offline, if we lose internet connection. I suppose you do have a point, I should have done some in depth research, but I am not familiar with these matters. I am very familiar with cars and I also know that there are strict Australian Standards, that need to be met with cars, there doesn’t appear to be any standard, whatsoever, with computer games. I bought him 1 through 4 and these appeared to me anyway, to work straight out of the box. I wanted to buy Hubby a Christmas Present, make it a surprise and I ended up buying him an unfinished game. Leaving aside the disaster we have experienced with the online, multiplayer part ( which I know is free to all ) , the campaign is glitching badly. Two nights ago, he said to my daughter and myself, come and have a look at this. He had loaded back into his campaign and his hands and gun were invisible. The reticle was on screen, but that’s it. The physics appear to be a shambles. You can Superman across huge sections of the map and he has also broken through the ground, ending up under the map numerous times.
So, yeah, I probably should have spent far more time investigating, but I wanted to surprise my Hubby and I can’t be an expert on everything. My Hubby also loves motorbikes and guns. With those, I wouldn’t even try a surprise present. The only thing I know about bikes, is he prefers dirtbikes. As for his shooting, I wouldn’t even try. I could research it for 6 months prior to Christmas and still wouldn’t have even the slightest clue. I thought buying Halo would be an easy surprise. I suppose at this point, the best thing to do is never buy games at release. Just wait 1 to 2 years down the track, then buy them, maybe. I know one thing for sure, there is a lot of ill will for Microsoft and 343 in our house at the moment.

Yeah, in your case, you have every right to expect a better product/service, since you paid for the game.

Though I haven’t experienced any disastrous glitches and bugs so far.

12 days ago was December 26th, 2 days from 2 weeks oooo lol what are you talking about. Probably wasn’t a good idea for them peace out with so many issues left. Apart of the issue is they aren’t talking to us, 12 days after they are back in office. They need to say something and give us an AMA honestly

:+1:
I know that was a bit of a rant, but I feel really ripped off. I don’t mean any nastiness towards you. :slightly_smiling_face:
We have all but given up on the MP side. Our Internet is probably to blame, but MP games simply aren’t working. Having had DESYNC explained to me, it’s the best answer I can find, as to why MP is so bad for us. My Hubby was swearing at the game, now 3 out of 4 days, and has given up. I mentioned in another thread, how he hasn’t done that since he tried Halo 2 LASO, which was years ago. Our daughter who still lives at home with us, thought she’d be smart and said," Well Dad, you’re old, let me try". Same thing. Shot someone with the sniper 3 times, nothing. And, same as my Hubby is experiencing, Gravity Hammer has a 30 metre kill radius. The only thing we can summise, is that what we see on our screen, is not what is actually happening.
Hubby decided that he had spent enough time being angry at MP, so decided just to got to the campaign. It is now turning into a glitchy mess.
I just feel really disappointed. I bought him a Christmas present that I thought he would enjoy, but it’s just turned into a frustrating nightmare.

no no, the BattlePass.
