Unacceptable level of service for a live subscription game

I keep experiencing server de sync aswell , so that the maps and progression are my biggest complaints , my biggest complaint Is the server de sync by a mile , that should be top of their list for things to fix in my opinion

Maybe but I keep seeing people making excuses for 343i. It’s like whenever people use the “but there on holiday, they deserve a break”…while acting like this isn’t obvious, which is frustrating since they shouldn’t have released the game in this state and most people are actually wanting the game to be fixed after holidays or released after the holidays.

At the very least 343i should have written an apology about misleading the community about the progression system and that shouldn’t have taken them as long and I don’t care if it was on their holiday since I feel like this is about doing the ‘right thing’ and it might have helped with peoples trust issues or even the population. Basically rushing out a game then choosing to do nothing was the worst thing 343i could have done.

“we pay for a service?”
Brother or sister is you have paid for this MP game, you need to reset all passwords and change to a two factor security mode.

Not disagreeing about the apology there definitely should be one and not a kinda sorta tip toe one where we get blamed. As for the “break” in their defense it was a bad release window with thanksgiving that week or the week after, I can’t remember, and then only getting a little less than a month to fix things.

I’m not shilling for them because the game shouldn’t have launched like this but there is a reasonable amount of leeway they should get.

What’s the point of a community manager if they can’t manage a reply to issues?

343i has no idea what there doing if that wasn’t evident by Halo 4 & 5.

We were legitimately asked by 343 to let them have their holiday with their families. After 6 years working on the game and this last year in particular being rough I think we can afford to give them that. The holidays are over, the updates will come.

And that’s exactly why they shouldn’t have released it so close to holidays because for a while they could just ignore the issues and basically hope people forget them long enough to go back to forcing more predatory systems.

I get some people think dev’s need a bit of leeway but that should only go so far until there basically taking advantage of people and it didn’t help matters when they have previously insulted the fanbase with Halo 5’s req video so it’s hard for me to trust them these days.

You say that like changes aren’t coming. We’ve seen evidence of last-minute effort put in. The challenges have been revamped 3 times, the events have been improved though they still need work. We got 3 playlists. And store changes have been explicitly mentioned and we’ve been assured they are coming too.

My absolute biggest fear, for a company that released their titles more bare than the predecessors, I didn’t see a live service model working. The only thing live about the game at the moment is unlocking launch assets and basic features over the course of a year. It’s an excuse to release unfinished after the longest period between releases. The only thing this game needed was a feature filled content rich launch, with more greatness added over time. It did the opposite. Time for a road map, we don’t need transparency about shortcoming, we need transparency about future plans.

I don’t think Microsoft cares when it was released they just wanted money from the in game store.

I kind of get that to some degree but the logic is sort of flawed since the point of release is to maximise profit but instead greed backfired and that goes against what Microsoft would want to aim for and based on the game itself they should have known how badly it would have been before forcing a rushed release. Whoever decided this has poor business skills and clearly didn’t understand what they were doing when they approved the release date without actually checking their product.

Well look at the marketing team. They dropped the ball with the tenrai event. We weren’t even supposed to get the kabuto armor for free. I think overall no one communicated on what was going on

God forbid finishing the product before the deadline, or delaying the deadline to drop until the game is ready to be released

I just dont get why they didnt take the progression system, playlists and ranks right from MCC. They had it all right in front of them.

Me neither. I kind of just feel like wanting the F2P to fail now after what they’ve done so that 343i can have a hard look at the game and realise what they’ve done and go back to making future paid games since the F2P may we well be the death of modern Halo if it’s forced for 10 years. Currently right now Halo Infinite’s mess may have killed my interest in modern Halo gaming and I’m already back to MCC unless servers become unplayable then that will mean the end of the Halo online and that’s depressing since been playing Halo for 20 years.

They’ve been back from break for like 2 almost 3 weeks that’s not an excuse. It’s also just a horrible idea to launch a game then dissappear even if it’s set for a holiday release. The game isn’t stable, COD releases near Thanksgiving every year yet there are NONE of these issues with cod the worst that happens there is a leader board is missing not half the entire game. I don’t understand a triple A studio wanting our love commitment and energy when they have given us none at all

The fact they revamped the challenges 3 times is EXACTLY APART OF THE ISSUE don’t commend them for putting out a Fire they started. SEASON 0 handled xp great, every level was 500 xp and every match gave you 100 xp. Bing bang boom wonderful. Then they made it worse then slightly better then worse again now added the 300xp 50xp 7 match thing which still feels like a bandaid fix to what it could have been. They also have MCC which was meant to be a testing ground for Infinite and they did nothing from MCC in Infinite so again they failed us and themselves. Stop commending them for failings and then giving praise for failing a little less. They have failed, they made a great halo game then flopped and fumbled everything about it

So because theyre a large corporate studio, that means that they arent allowed to take time off to enjoy the holidays? Am I reading this correctly?

Thats what a live service game is. Thats not them having it both ways. “Live service” means that they are going to be adding more content to the game as time goes on. I dont like it either, but i also dont appreciate downright lying for the sake of your own bias. Launching an incomplete game doesnt mean it isnt a live service game. In fact, that kind of thing should be expected for live service games, because it leaves more for the devs to release in the future. Like i said, i dont like it either, but that is, in fact, what “live service” means.

Of course they can take time off. But a multi billion dollar company can use a calender and plan right? RIGHT?!?!
