Unacceptable level of service for a live subscription game

pal the mp launched like near thanksgiving and then campaign not long after they didnt have time to get major updates out the gate before Christmas/ New Years yes the game needs updates but iwouldnt want 343 employees to be away from their families during the holidays. once they get back into the office tis gonna full steam on getting updates and fixes out and they will get them out

remember the folks at 343’s dev team are human like you and me and not machines they cant just drop everything and fix issues in an instant

Everyone forgetting that the current devs don’t even know how their game works? Everyone that built the engine and framework was a contractor that doesn’t work at 343i anymore and hasn’t for years most likely. Microsoft screwed 343i by preventing them from making permanent employment an option for the devs they were bringing on and mandating the game be butchered to make MS, the share holders, and Bill Gates as much money as possible.

Tomorrow or Tuesday, we’ll be getting an update. Whether it’s just news or an actual update/fix, we will have to wait and see. 343i will be back in full effect starting tomorrow.

I think someone mentioned that they’ve been back to work a week ago, and while that may be true, we need to realize there’s a whole lot of bureaucracy we don’t see/hear. Made a change/fix to the games code? Welp, send it to the higher ups for review and testing. With the huge list of things and problems the community have rightly expressed, it will take time.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m feeling the same way that most other Halo fans are, but just look at the recent games that released around the same time. All trash, unfortunately (I’m so tempted to drop names). Halo is in far better waters at the moment.

By the time the fine tune Infinite to make it a really good game it will probably be to late to really bring the players back. Similar to MCC. Has much as it got better by leaps and bounds it was far to late to really bring players back. Sure Infinite shined out the box but it quickly dimmed and clearly needs improvement.

I think its the part of time that some folks forget altogether like im no dev but I do know that somthing like fixing the issue fo btb proably takes testing and finding what exactly is causing it I mean 343 employers do in fact play infinte adn proably find the issues folks post on her like the desync adn the melee issue and so on so they also have first hand experince of the issues their trygni to find and send that said info to the team to fix

Exactly. They know there are issues, and they are actively taking a look at them. Most just think that you can change a few values in the code, and voila, all fixed! It doesn’t work that way at all.

Take cross core customization for example. We all want it, but imagine the logistics of it. Do you really want to spend minutes scrolling through all of the options just to get what you want? No. There needs to be some UI fixes as well, which is a whole other major issue in it’s entirety. My point is, if you change one thing, another must change as well.

It’s a chain reaction codeing is I took a basic intro to codeing and yeah it can be a mess fixing one thing would break something else and fixing they would break something else too it’s like I said a chain reaction the trick is to make sure it doesn’t get out of hand

Yeah, I remember - core employees though, still been workin’ a long, long time.

I think it’s unacceptable but willing to give it a pass purely because of the holiday season. Let’s see how they respond in January.

Summary

Well we think you’re a shill, nothing he said is wrong and all of the issues exist in the game and have since December 11th. The last day this “live service” had an update before the team wanted a month long vacation.

343 made this game “Free” to pander to players like you. They don’t have to bother fixing the game or listening to feedback because hey it’s free right? Any complaint is just a crybaby off their rocker over a free game. The issue here is that halo has had complete content and working playlists for 20 years until infinite came out, now that it’s free all is good in the world!

I feel if that were consistent they wouldn’t have had to act as if they were walking on glass to this extent.

I don’t know, I get that it takes a lot of work for these games to work but then again, this game was delayed a year…how can it feel this undone after a year delay. It must have been in pretty bad shape a year ago. Hopefully they can make the game really shine before most move on.

It’s 343, what did you expect lol? They’re bottom of the barrel.

I mean he’s got a point. This isn’t the team of 40 guys who made CE with passion in their hearts and a dream. If time and effort was being managed at all, you’d think it would have less problems and more day-one available content. You would think that it would launch with as many maps as Halo 3, even if some of those maps were similar, they each had unique themes that made them different enough that they were worth including.

It feels like there hasn’t been any work done on the multiplayer since the tech previews except for a balance pass that murdered the Ravager before release.

I think there was an excessive focus on making the entire game competitive-friendly. Competitive-friendly maps are usually expected to have similar features, which is why Streets and Live Fire are similarly sized and relatively symmetric even if the design is slightly different on one side vs the other.
They likely stopped making maps because they were so hyperfixated on making the existing 4v4 maps as competitive-friendly as possible.

completely crazy idea: if you can’t ship a decent game before holiday, don’t ship it if you want these holidays off. Releasing THE Franchise of xbox in this state is just a shame and shows yet again that 343 is nothing more than a bunch of wannabe clowns like bonnie ross and co.

Bgw, did anybody encounter any problems with the shop? yeah, didn’t think so…

6 years guys. 6 fraking years… for THIS. Every indue dev is laughing there -Yoink!- off

It’s absolutely baffling, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a company yet alone A SYSTEM SELLER like 343 with halo release unfinished garbage and then just go on a vacation. None of u told you nor forced you to release this! We waited months for a delay because the graphics sucked, you don’t think we would have waited longer for idk a good game???

Does the developers deserve a holiday break? Of course the do!
But the lack of support and fixes for the game is the fault of the company and its management. Retail chains, hospitals, cab companies etc all manage to support their customers during holidays as well.

And I can live with a lack of features shortly after release (like no coop for campaign) but stability issues needs to treated quicker and with more transparency.

There are a lot of things that need addressing, and I’m sorely disappointed in 343s ability to do so.

The only 3 maps in big team battle are taken straight off campain. Wtf where they doing all these years? Even ubisoft can make much more bigger and varied maps with tons of more story and release it EVERY YEAR.

I would plot a coup for some of the old Halo 1 whacky maps to make a modernized appearance.
