I have the Xbox 360 Slim 4GB console with a 32GB USB flash drive inserted. All the Halo 4 content, including the campaign disc, are installed on the USB stick.
When I go into Theater mode, at the bottom of the screen, it shows: “One or more players do not have an Xbox 360 hard drive. An Xbox 360 hard drive is required in order to watch a film.”
And yet, I’ve talked to a few other people that have the same Xbox model as I do, as well as the same USB stick, and they’re able to watch and save films in Halo 4 just fine. What’s going on?
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there any way to fix this? Because of this glitch(?) I am unable to get the achievement for saving a film, as well as save all my awesome in game moments, which I’ve been doing since Halo 3. This is my only major gripe with the game so far.
Can anyone help me with this? Anyone? Mods? Hello?
Seriously, I’ve looked all over the Internet for confirmation of this. There is nothing to suggest that I shouldn’t be able to save or watch films. This is a major glitch that I would like fixed. Anyone have any tips? Should I reinstall?
Make sure your 4Gb hard drive is actually in the xbox. You cant just have the stick in there.
Um, yes the hard drive is in there. There’s no way to remove it. It’s part of the Xbox.
I was just killed by someone else’s ordinance drop!! I should be able to save that moment for all Halo eternity! Urgh, so frustrating.
Do you select the 32 gb one to save stuff to?
Yes, because that’s where the multiplayer disc is installed. I had to install there because the hard drive is only 4 gigs.
Any other suggestions? This is really bugging me. Theater is one of my favorite features in Halo games and I have no idea why this isn’t working.
I am having the same problem. On the game box it states that you need at least an 8 gig Hard Drive OR usb for all multiplayer. I have enough storage on my usb but only a 4 Gig HDD but am unable to use theatre mode. I have been looking since release date and the only answer I can find is that you need an 8 Gig or more Hard Drive to access this. Maybe a future update will allow for theater mode on the USB.
Hey mate,
unfortunately, you have been mislead by those people who have the same xbox model as you that claim they can save films. You need a HDD, and the 4GB Slim Xbox only comes with 4gb of storage on a designated Memory Unit (MU).
While it is a rip-off, it is necessary that you buy a HDD unit for your 4GB Slim. Fortunately, such things do exist: see http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-250GB-HardDrive-Slim-Only/dp/B002I0JDC6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Other, non-Microsoft HDDs will work according to user reviews on that Amazon page, but do some research yourself and ensure you are comfortable with your purchase.
And I must re-iterate: you NEED to buy an HDD, NOT a USB (no USB will work! It must be a HDD!!), if you want to be able to watch your films in halo 4 (or any Halo, for that matter).
I have the same issue… The lame thing is that forge and everything else works fine, but nothing in theatre works! And the silly thing is that the USB has far more storage than my original 20Gb hard drive with my old console…
same with me!
same with me!
Double post and necro post!!! REALLY!?!
I know it sucks I have the same problem on my 42gig USB and barley any stores sell them so I have to get one from amazon ugh
