I am making this post at the suggestion of Microsoft support who got nowhere with me other than telling me to double check my email and xbox live inbox. Essentially, I was never emailed a code but a few weeks ago I had an incredibly vague message in my Xbox live inbox saying something along the lines of, “this is your specialization code” with an alpha-numeric code.
I had no idea what this was referring to, it was sent from LIVE and didn’t reference Halo, 343 or anything else other than to list the code. At the time I wasn’t aware of the level 70 cap or the differences in this regard to buying the standard or limited edition so figuring it was for some contest or promotion i deleted the message.
Two weeks later I’m sitting here at level 70 wondering why I can’t get anymore experience when i’ve seen players at a much higher level than that playing in the game. After reading what I could online I discovered that these codes were sent to people who played before 11/20/12, which I clearly did.
I then recalled deleting the message and immediately contacted Microsoft support to find out how to either retrieve the message or have a replacement sent. He essentially told me that wasn’t something Microsoft could do and all the codes they have were already sent out. This to me doesn’t seem reasonable and I asked him for contact information for 343 which he told me he doesn’t have and the only way I could make a case would be on this forum.
I apologize to all the other forum users who have probably read a number of these one-off situations with these specialization codes but please be assured if I could go about this any other way, I would. I am simply trying to resolve this so I have a reason to keep playing the game, unlocking new armor and leveling up is the driving force of why I continued to play so many hours each week.
343, hopefully you are reading this and are able to understand my frustration, this should be an incredibly easy fix and I sincerely hope you can assist me with getting this issue resolved. It was an honest misunderstanding and trust me, I wouldn’t have deleted the message if I had any idea whatsoever what it was.

Its a case of, as far as 343i are concerned, if you don’t have a code, or you lost your code, you’ll just have to wait until they unlock for everyone. Not a great situation, especially for those close to or at level 70.
sadly i cannot get past level 70 either i didn’t get a code. I did play before nov 20th. i am older than 17 and i am currently living in Canada. i doubt ill ever get a code but hey worth a shot.
