Unable to queue with intl. friends is RIDICULOUS.

So aside from the lack of split screen, Halo 5’s BIGGEST issue is the fact that you can’t even play with your Xbox LIVE friends, if they are more than a set distance away from you. Why can I successfully play campaign with my friend from the US (I’m from NZ) and we have no lag, but as soon as we try to queue in matchmaking we are unable to due to “high latency”? If campaign is hosted on dedicated servers, and multiplayer is hosted on dedicated servers… then why can I play one and not the other?

Why have you put in the most backwards, stupid restriction that I have ever seen in all my years of playing online? Don’t give me this whole thing about improving gameplay experiences either. Even if there was any lag, which there isn’t (and I can prove it, see below), I would rather play with friends than with randoms who go lone wolf and have negative KDs.

As for “high latency”, that’s false. That is absolutely false. I managed to get my US friend into a matchmaking game through the ‘exploit’ (the fact that you need to exploit the menu system to play with friends is beyond belief) and we did not have any lag at all. We both confirmed it.

So if there is no lag, why in the world are we restricted due to “high latency”?

This needs to be fixed ASAP. Multiplayer with friends is the ONLY reason that I bought this game.

Like many others, I gave 343 another chance after not only Halo 4, but the entire MCC debacle (which STILL isn’t fixed). Was I wrong to do so?

That currently seems to be the case.

Still no official word on this matter.
