So I usually play on Xbox One but I decided to try the game out on my PC. I downloaded it, loaded it up, logged in my gamer tag, went to multiplayer, and my only options are team war, ranked 1v1, and blitz 1v1. Is there a reason for this???

There is no PC playerbase… Halo Wars is a great RTS but mainly works on Xbox. There are too many other RTS titles which are played on PC and no one uses the Window Store.

The devs had to limit the number of playlists on pc as the playerbase was not high enough and it was making it very difficult for people to find games. If the game grows, however, there is a chance more of the old playlists will return.

You’ve never played with a pc player on your xbox. The game does not support cross platform play
Hmmm. One game I played some player had a message sent in-game and it displayed on screen. This was on my Xbox. Isn’t that a PC thing?

You may have played with someone you’ve seen in the Xbox app as the Xbox live accounts carry over. However, as D3ATH5 poin5ed out the game does not support cross platform play.
Well that is unfortunate. And the competition is stagnant on the PC…Lol…wiping the teams out just about every game.

Nope. You can do that via Xbox. Just hit RT and LS at the same time.
It freaked me out the first time someone sent me a message this way.

Pretty much this.
The PC version is only good for campaign and skirmish. The Windows Store and UWP apps are an abomination.
It really sucks because I honestly enjoyed playing it on my PC 
I think I will definitely be doing the campaign on my computer though. In regards to playing on the computer, can you get Xbox achievements via said computer play???

No. There has never been a time where Xbox could play with PC in this game.
