Unable to play Multiplayer because of Privileges

To 343 Industries,

There is a problem after the recent update of me unable to play the MCC’s multiplayer due to not having privileges. First and foremost, why do I need privileges to play the game? I paid $60 for this game for me to pay it because I bought the license to the copy of the game. Please fix this matter as that I cannot play multiplayer at all now. Now I see things are getting worse and would rather play Playstation 4, if this keeps up. The only reason I bought the xbox one was for Halo. Thank you.

You need Xbox live to play multiplayer. Just like you ps plus to play multiplayer for ps4 games.

I do have xbox live as well as the game pass. Is there another problem in the mix of this privilege(s)?
