I’ve had the game since launch week and applied al the updates and even re-installed, but i’ve not once been able to load any halo2 campaign missions. The rest of the games load fine. Is this a known issue?

appears to be loading, this goes on for about 1 to 2 minutes before the loading indicator freezes, then for a period of 10 to 15 seconds an wretched sound is screeched out of the speakers, then the game returns to the main screen as if the game reset. Happens if i launch individual missions or if i just do a quick start. only happening on Halo2.
You have a weird one.
If you have the disk:
Uninstall the game. Disconnect your console from the internet and do an install from the disk. Once installed, with it still disconnected, try playing.
If it works: A patch messed it up
If it doesn’t work: You have a corrupted file being installed by the disk, or it is your console. The next step would be to uninstall and see if someone you know locally has a copy and try an install from their disk to your console, or your disk to their console.
If you have digital, I can only suggest trying to download it through your account on a console belong to another person.
If it works: your console or internet (i dunno) is the problem
If it doesn’t work: Your account is getting a faulty download.
