When you invest time into Halo 5, there are plenty of obvious ways to play. Competitively, socially, warzone, arena, campaign, the list goes on. I play competitively. I’m new to the forums and perhaps there is already a thread addressing this, and if so, I apologize beforehand. But when I am playing HARD in a warzone match, seconds away from victory, and the match kicks me out saying I was unable to join and that it has timed out, I lose it. That’s the quickest way to make me beyond frustrated at this otherwise, amazing game. The only thing I can think of to do is to exit out to the dashboard, press start and quit the application outright. Then I’m good for about 3 or 4 matches usually. Does anyone know any other methods to get this to stop? I know it’s not a connectivity issue per xbox live. I’ve already been down that road. I’m pretty sure it’s just Halo 5 servers. Any and all advice would be desperately appreciated as I am reaching my wits end with this game… The worst part is leveling down when I get back because the game kicked me. As to the exact nature of the issue, it says “unable to join session has timed out” right in the middle of a game.
I’ve never had that happen. Not sure how to assist.
You’re describing exactly what happens to me. It’s been happening for what feels like the duration since the Xbox update. I’ve been looking and looking and can’t see any kind of official response to the many many threads and complaints over this issue.
I honestly get a handful of hours a week to play anything and I’m choosing Halo 5. I’m going to be jumping ship very soon if this doesn’t get resolved.
i don’t think they realize how horrible of a user experience it is to play 15 mins, use a XP boost and some of your best REQs only to get disconnected… Multiple times in ONE NIGHT!!! It’s killing me…
I had this problem too, after the last xbox update.
But not only in Halo5, everything feature of xbox live did not work correctly.
I had to change power mode of the xbox to full off ( not quick start ), then switched off the xbox by pressing the power button on the console for 10 seconds
Getting off the power cable, then restarting the console, since then i have no more problems.
Thanks guys for the tips. I will try all of it. You are not alone in your frustration. Lol.
