Unable to join/Connection lost - Getting worse

As the title says. Joining custom games through the custom games browser is getting worse and worse, I’m having more difficulty joining servers than ever before. 70% of the servers I try to join through the custom games browser give me the same errors; “unable to join” or “connection lost”. It’s really dissapointing for the game I generally like to spend most of my time playing. I am thoroughly dissapointed that this hasn’t been remotely touched or fixed. Even the screen freezes that are now an extremely common occurance that I have unfortunately had to get used to I still try to play, I am that 1% that stays commited despite these things. But I still despise these things and I expect better. This needs to stop being ignored. There is still money being flooded into this game through microtransactions and there sure as hell needs to be a fix to the servers and connectivity issues, especially the freezes. Do something, 343.

Have you considered performing a hard reset of your Xbox or restarting your internet router? One of those two methods should clear out the issue.

Worse case scenario, you may have to call up your internet service provider (ISP) and get them to send in a technician to check (and repair) your internet. You may have to pay for any necessary service fees in the process.

For the last time, it’s not a problem on my end. It’s entirely 343 and the servers.

They’re aware of this issue, are planning a fix, but we don’t have an ETA on said fix.

What does the ETA mean? And about why does they not just explain or tell anything like in 2 months? The freezing crashing blackscreens and stuff?

ETA = estimated time of arrival (a set date for something). They haven’t given us a set date for the fixes. They stated that they would begin working on it after the holidays (Christmas). Fixes like this can’t just be dropped in any time. They have to go through stringent testing to ensure they actually work. The last update was supposed to work, and did indeed lessen some of the issues, it just didn’t fully fix anything. So, we wait again, unfortunately.

Edit: This post is mainly an attention bait for 343 to hopefully get them to fix this. Because it has been wayyy too long.

There was this problem during the hcs orlando but despite all it is difficult to ask us to restart our router when the problem comes from 343 servers obviously. To ask if it is not just a biodegradable game, as the game progresses over time and it becomes difficult to play a game without problems. for my part since the beginning of the week it is still agravé, while it was already poor. It is really frustrating that this problem has been reported for too long and nothing is improving. Is it really a priority for 343 to solve it? today I sincerely doubt.

I just can’t understand with Halo 5 being out for this long that there are still this many errors going off. No other game I know is like this. I jumped on after like 2 weeks into a random custom game only for the build to crash and disconnect and have to rejoin with my game’s screen freezing.

I get about 5-7 errors every 30 minutes or so actively joining games and get an average of 5 build crashes or so a day coupled with a plethora of screen freezes.

You just can’t enjoy it because you can barely play it. It’s extremely frustrating every time I hop on.

they won’t fix custom games because there are no microtransactions for it. simple as that

so much for that ETA. Ha… Tear.

You’re probably joining huge lobbies. I know for me personally I cant join a game of customs with more than 3 people usually.
