So, it’s been a while since the game of the year edition released I think. I’m pretty sure I remember that 343i said that they were still looking into ways to unlock stuff like pre-order armour and skins, other than the game of the year edition.
Time ago, I believe I said how disc locked content wasn’t good and that having to buy a new copy of halo 4 to obtain it wasn’t acceptable, however I think they were still going to look into ways of making the stuff unlockable, so game of the year edition is okay, with the other condition. Several months later, no updates as far as I know.
Basically, any updates?
IIRC in one of the weekly bulletins leading up to the release of the GotY edition, it was said that it was the only way to now receive the pre order bonuses. Maybe it wasn’t a bulletin but I’m definitely sure thats what I heard from 343 in some way. Try asking BS Angel on Twitter for the answer maybe?

There are standards and principles that should be upheld. Even as a business they have to be ethical.
Stand up against Disc Locked Content and requiring to pay for a new copy just to unlock it!
The only armor I need from the Pre-orders is the Deadeye Helmet. AS much as I want that, I can’t justify paying $40 for the GOTY edition. So, I’ll have to wait until it really drops in price. Well that or is someone out there still has a code that we could work out a deal for.

I agree…it would be such a disaster if 343 did that, but in another way, it wouldn’t be possible.
OT: There hasn’t been any news with regards to the pre-order armors/weapons skins, emblems, maps, etc. Also, not to go overboard, but I’m gonna see if I can work with Sec-3 members in regards to those unobtainable armor/weapon skins (BR Blast, DMR Concrete, and Orbital SWIFT). Just thought I bring that up since you mentioned unachievable armor/weapon sins.
