OK WHAT?!?!?!?
I thought helioskrill armor was only obtainable through the campaign. Well, I knew that they had put helioskrill bloodgorger and such into the req pool, but I didn’t know they put the normal helioskrill in… thought you had to grind the halo campaigns on legendary for that!
Anyways it was about time I got it it, I’m SR 144 lol

Well that’s kinda dumb… I did actually watch all the nightfall vids to get nightfall armor when I was about SR20
The Helioskrill set was added to the REQ pool a VERY LONG time ago (perhaps more than a year back), probably due to unlocking issues with the original method.

It was very unfortunately added to the req pool a while back. It is rumored that it was added due to the fact that getting it through MCC had become broken and no longer worked. I’m not sure if the rumors are true since that seems like an extremely lazy way of fixing the situation. Either way it’s really disappointing to see an armor set like Helioskrill added to the req pool. Fingers crossed the other exclusive ones don’t get added.

More specifically, the HCS armor is Challenger. It’s impossible to get it now.

Athlon Champion is still made available from time to time, mainly when there’s a major HCS event happening. Challenger was only available once and hasn’t ever returned.

I’ve managed to be able to buy it even when its not… I could buy the pack with the 343 rifle in it right now if I felt like it.
I know MCC is buggy but it should have never been added IMO. I actually earned my Helioskrill but stopped wearing it as soon as they gave it to everyone. I spent many a hour replaying missions to get them to register. So lame every one can just open a pack for it.

I think that it should have to be achieved by legendary through all the campaigns… or given to those of a noteworthy level, say SR145…
Helioskrill set has been dropped in the REQ pool for long time. Sucks though you cannot unlock it by completing all MCC campaigns (excluding ODST) on legendary. I can tell you I unlocked the helmet through a gold pack a day before I finish all 4 on legendary.

I don’t think SR should have anything to do with it. It would have been ok to award it for say completing H5 solo Legendary… SR doesn’t mean much to me. All it is is a reflection of how much multiplayer some one has played.
Ever since, my sense of pride and accomplishment earning the Legend achievement has significantly diminished.
Was it the base version just called Helioskrill or was it one of the other variations of Helioskrill? As the version you get from MCC is the base version.
343 had the genius idea to make it so everybody’s hard work in mcc was pointless so anybody could just get it in a req pack.
