Umm.....Huh.....Explain?

Ok so I was playing Anniversary Firefight and about half way through the game the 3 people I was playing with quit out(I get a black screen/game stopped for a second). I was playing by myself maybe like 5-7 mins left and I finished the game.

So I back out from the Post Game Carnage Report to a lobby and it says “I have been temp. banned from playing matchmaking due to quitting”…Um wait…I haven’t quit out of a game in a whole 24 hours or more.

Please explain how I got a temp. ban when I didn’t quit? Once again 343 Industries the system is flawed and needs to be fixed.

Thank you!

You lagged out. It’s technically a quit and there’s no way to distinguish.

I didn’t lag out because I was still connected to Xbox LIVE and I was pulling up the guide which still showed me online. The 3 other people quit. The system is flawed and needs repairing.

Yes, you did. To you, they lagged out. To each of the others, everyone else lagged out.

Lagging out counts as a quit.

And this is why I despise Reach’s system because this is constantly happening in co-op campaign and 4 player Firefight. People get internet or lag problems and get banned for 10 minutes for something they might not be able to control. -_-

Well, have you considered that it might be your Internet? I never have these problems.

You do go on probabtion, dont you? You its coming, if you continue to quit/lag out.

Quit ban is in place for the benefit of the people negatively affected by quits. Namely, the people who are still in the game. To these individuals there is literally no difference between someone who chooses to quit and someone who lags out.

Someone who lags out regularly is as bad a scourge as someone who quits regularly, intent makes no difference. The system’s in place to encourage people to finish the games they start, either by changing their attitude or resolving connection issues. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but the problems are definitely not who is targeted.

You do make an excellent point though, lagging out is bound to happen in campaign and firefight games even over good connections. There should be (if there isn’t already) a segregation of quit tracking and punishing between synchronous and asynchronous networking modes.

Get used to it, it’s a flaw in the system and wont change.

My internet is just fine on the computer atleast, the upstream bandwidth does say warning but I always assume it’s just the Reach servers, in competitive matchmaking, I’m just fine, it’s only in co-op campaign most of the time and usually firefight, theres been times where there wasn’t a delay in firin or jumping in co-op campaign or firefight.
