This is what I imagine: invasion has its own separate mode. Halo Wars size maps. Dedicated servers, 32 players. 4 squads of 4. Players drive long distances to their objective. Scarabs, Phantoms, Pelicans, and even(yes) Sabres.
There would be air battles as well as ground battles. Rockets, plasma, lead, explosion happening(imagine with the rumored destructible enviornments) on ground as attackers try to steal the core. There should be many places to duck and cover at. Tanks, scarabs collapsing buildings, spartans jumppacking onto scarabs to disable them.
Sabre battles in the sky. Sabres getting shot down by Scarabs.
Basically, a really intense, fast-paced Invasion. Vehicles, shooting, blood, smoke, and explosions everywhere.
What do you think? Is there anything you would change?
This. And also you are not always a spartan or an elite. Each squad will have different loadouts that you are allowed to choose depending on the mission.
Once your squad completes all it’s objectives, the members will have the ultimate objective which is to eliminate all enemies until the match is over.
omgggg i was about to make a thread like this any dayyy, i was really lazy so thank you for making one.
The thing with a giant invasion mode is that you can have loadouts, unlockables, and stuff like that because it won’t affect the balance of the match much, since so many players are playing it almost auto-balances.
Perhaps you can earn credits in the match and order vehicles or special power weapons, similar to homefront. Like when a banshee is constantly harassing you, it would be great to order a spartan laser, or plasma grenades, or combine credits with your teammates and order a friggin scarab to kill that damn banshee.
Also, ^what the guy mentioned above me^, it would be sick to have dynamic objectives. Imagine one guy on the other team is too skilled and is owning everyone, what if you could bribe credits or some kind of reward to another player on the opposing team and if he accepts, his only objective is then to kill that skilled player. It would be easier to infiltrate since they’re on the same team. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be a bribe, it could just be a random side objective a person receives to keep the battle interesting.

There is a Halo game that already exists that has these traits, it’s called Halo Wars… End of discussion
It WOULD be awesome. but sadly, the Xbox cant handle that kind of thing. Look at BF3. the 360 can barely handle 24 players on big maps. Maybe on the Xbox 720? Who knows.
But yes, it would be amazing, l would totally pay for a second game disc only for that game mode.
And do not let the mode just for the UNSC against the Covenant. BRING IN THE FLOOD. Now THAT would be interesting. UNSC vs Covenant vs Flood.

i think invasion 2.0 should have more fictional story driven elements tied into these dynamic missions. Also the option for unsc and covenant ai to be included - the game mode should almost be like competitive multiplayer campaign levels - like firefight versus mode but on a bigger scale. (dare i say it) - Battlefield 3 does it pretty well… just sayin
As a long time Halo fan, this is my hope for Halo’s future.

Halo Wars is a RTS. Halo 1-3 + Reach is a FPS. They are completely different, and the only thing these two games share is the word “Halo” in the title.
It simply just wouldn’t work on the 360. It would be amazing however but it would have to tie in with the canon, which means certain maps wouldn’t have Sabre’s or energy shielded Spartans. Perhaps something like this would be better as a stand-alone game or firefight mission/variant.
