When I was eating my steak just now I came up with a brilliant idea. What if you could launch the previous games from the Halo 4 disc?
Now, you may be thinking that this would be too much data for one disc but all you’d need to do is download the games to your HDD. Then Halo 4 could act as the key to launch all of the previous games without actually having any of the data on that disc!
Good idea?
I think it would be very hard and if it was possible people could easily pirate the games…
This would split the population between various games, which is the opposite of what 343 wants.
They want to make a game which can get everyone on the same page again & leave older titles in the dust.

The whole point is that you need to already own the previous titles and have them downloaded to your HDD in order to play them using the H4 disc.
If this suggestion never made it in to the full product then you could simply just switch the discs if you wanted to so your point is irrelevant.
Thats actually not to shabby of an idea. What he is saying is the same thing as having d/l the game from the marketplace. No disc is required for that, and no other game data is stored on it so it “wont be easier” to pirate. I have Halo reach, halo odst, and halo cea, wouldnt it be nice to just keep one disc in and select the games from that? It be nice to have a frontend that way you can invite, set up groups and jump to the games you want to.

It shouldn’t be that difficult to implement.
The Ultimate Halo Disc is now called Halo: The Master Chief collection.
