UK release delayed

Ok I may have missed something but since when did the UK release get pushed back from the 11th to the 14th?

There hasn’t been a Halo game without an international release date in years.

I’ll try and find the link but I think it was confirmed that it was to bring it inline with Europes usual practice of releasing games on a Friday

Edit: found it. Bravo from 343 Industries posted:

The November 14th release date for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is simply aligning to the typical process for retailers in Europe, as are other Xbox first-party releases like Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2.

Thanks for that link.

Nice to get an official statement on this but it still doesn’t make sense as like the other posters say in that thread, there have been plenty of other halo games with worldwide release dates, I’m sure there’s extra work involved when releasing on a Tuesday in the UK but this is Halo, like one of the biggest franchises there is.

Baffled.

I think it’s because a worldwide release costs more. I could’ve sword I heard that being the reason a while back but I just can’t remember where or who I heard it from so don’t quote me on that one, though I would imagine it would cost significantly more to release on the same day for everyone.

Does this mean that the Digital version will be released on the Friday as well, or earlier?

Usually it means the same for Digital versions too, I’m guessing that because I’ve never seen MS release a digital version on the official US release date in Europe.

Well, on the bright-side, at least you’ll get all your work/homework done that week, since its being released on a Friday.

Seriously though, that sucks and I offer my condolences.

Did I spell condolences right?

Found this out a few weeks ago and it absolutely sucks that this will be the first Halo since 2009 not release on the same date as the rest of the world (except Japan).

So Halos 1-3 weren’t? Seems that the more common scenario is a staggered release date, then… and pretty fitting, giving the nature of this throwback collection.

In a way this is a good thing, now I can play through the whole thing without stopping, something I wouldn’t be able to do on other days of the week.

I begged to get those days off. Now you’re telling me it’s different day? -Yoink- that -Yoink-.

Halo CE apparently released March 14th, 2002 in Europe
Halo 2 released November 11th, 2004 in Europe
Halo 3 released September 26th, 2007 in Europe
Halo Wars released February 27th, 2009 in Europe
Halo 3: ODST released September 22nd, 2009 worldwide, minus Japan
Halo: Reach released September 14th, 2010 worldwide, minus Japan
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary released November 15th, 2011 worldwide
Halo 4 released November 6th, 2012 worldwide, minus Japan

This is literally the first title since 2009 to not release in the UK on the same day as the US release date.

Nothing about this is good. If you wanted to play through it all, you could easily have waited to the weekend

Well sure, I would have loved to play it sooner. I would have played it on a weekday too, it’s just on a day before the weekend I can enjoy a Halo marathon!
