I have the same issues, however a lot less when queueing with a group. Apparently bringing a bunch of EU with you does promote matchmaking with other people nearby.
My friends don’t play ranked though so tryharding with a 110ms ping is still not very satisfying when I know I have a 3-20ms ping within EU…
Because apparently 343 rent servers from Microsoft and they can only afford US servers. Yes, Microsoft rents out its servers to itself apparently.
Apparently I’d interpreted it wrong. The US server that flashes up when connecting to game was an authentication server so I was still connecting to either Dublin or Amsterdam, however I don’t necessarily agree as I my ping was 106ms for those games…may be my geo filter hadn’t activated correctly. I haven’t had any issues since tbf.
