UI

I do not believe I am the only one here but the UI seems very complicated to navigate through. Most of the time while customizing my spartan i felt it be better if the UI had wording to indicate what you are about to change instead of just pictures, for ex: at least three pictures of helmets were present during the flight and it was confusing into what you were changing. I hope this can be changed at launch

I don’t think the customization UI was confusing, but the post-game UI? Oh my. That needs some serious revision, lol.

I think that it handles nested menu options badly. It was hard to tell if when I hit Escape if I was going to go back to a previous menu or if I was already at the main menu.

They should make the menus use a serif font. It would make things easier to read. The minimalist design where all the big white transparent boxes with a bold word or two inside made everything look the same.

I don’t like how the main menu is graphically intensive. My computer is strong and the fans always revved up just on the main menu because of the fully rendered 3d backgrounds. I’d like an option to make it something simple.

After going back an playing the backwards compatible version of Halo: Reach in order to copy some game mode settings, I would wholeheartedly agree with you.

The adage of “less is more” definitely applies as far as the UI is concerned. Maybe it’s because of nostalgia or because the UI was simply perfect the way it was back then, but 343I has experimented with the UI before in future installments of the franchise and their execution has been less than stellar.

To put it painfully blunt, Halo 5: Guardian’s UI is an atrocious mess and, while Halo Infinite’s UI is a major improvement from that title, it is far from what I would call a seamless interface. Hopefully, this is remedied in the full release of the game, but that definitely doesn’t appear to be the case…

While back, I saw a post of a person ‘fixing’ halo infinite UI and they made it look like an old Halo 3 style. With your gun displaying on the screen and bullets left in the clip instead of a number. It will was sharp looking. So I agree, they could change up the UI of Halo Infinite but if they don’t I wouldn’t be mad.

I’m hoping it was just because it was a flight build but I found the menu UI awful. Getting to the challenges and battle pass was not intuitive and half the time things wouldn’t load as intended. Pulling up the battle pass or challenges would stop me searching for a game. Felt like it was lagging and things weren’t readily loaded for me as I moved through the menus.

I’d love to be able to see my challenges in the pause/select menu during the game as I frequently forget what I’m supposed to be doing for my challenges.

Halo Infinite has the worst UI I’ve had the misfortune of navigating in a long time. If 343 didn’t insist on making everything their “own”, copy pasting the Reach UI would be one of the few good things they can give to Halo.

Yeah as much as I’m liking Infinite the UI is noticeably weaker than most other games I’ve played. Still hoping this is a by-product of it being a flight build.

Halo 5 was garbage tier, but at least it was somewhat logical to navigate. Infinite UI is a hodge podge of menus and input prompts that change on every other screen.

Highly doubt there will be significant changes. Infinite is due in 2 months, should go Gold in less than a month. Hundreds of millions, dozens of 3rd parties assisting 343, thousands of revolving contractors, and this is the level of quality it has given. Just lmao
