Uhhh was that really the banished?

I really wish they didn’t make the enemies like that and that they would portray them how they really were…. Terrifying.

im gonna post this for the rest

what we faced in the campaign was proably a small faction of the banished as eschraum said they have full control of the ring the section we explored was proably a small portion of the banished we’re far from done facing the banished theres more fo this ring to explore and more banihisde outposts to break in and more hvt’s to kill this is only the beginning of this skirmish

They should rename it BTA Big Team Arena, and give us BTB back with tanks and vehicles at bases in large open maps. They could also add back BTSF Big Team Super Fiesta. I hate 343’s version of BTB. It’s just larger Quick Play.

Wait, what does this have to do with the Banished?

Idk, I think that the Mangler, Skewer, and Ravager (and ofc the gravity hammer) are all VERY brute style weapons. I don’t think the shock rifle suits them tho, it’s more covie style in looks/colors and it’s projectile system.

That said, I do think they should have included the brute shot for sure and a couple more NEW brute weapons. I barely remember what the spiker was so I’d like some new brute weapons that keep the brute aesthetic going.

Definitely didn’t like them using bulldogs all the time, cause even on legendary (aside from the mini boss with the bulldog), you could just laugh at the bulldog users lmao

Follow the replies. The conversation was about how the Banished and UNSC are missing half the vehicles and NPC variants they should have, but those vehicles would be useless in the current Campaign and BTB maps, because 343 sucks at making vehicle maps. There would be no room to use any of these vehicles from Halo Wars 2.

now, now… condors were in the game. 3 of them to be exact. They were just already destroyed :stuck_out_tongue:

Along with 40% of the Campaign and 20% of the Battle Pass

but speaking of “was that really the banished?”, I wish they hadn’t made the campaign based off of enemies and stories from the Halo Wars 2 game as, even though I played it, I didn’t really remember the story and as such had no idea what was happening most of the campaign.

I remembered cortana going skynet from halo 4/5 but that’s about all. lol

Also I imagine there’s tons of ppl who didn’t even play the Halo Wars games considering they likely aren’t fans of RTS or they had no idea they existed as casuals probably only played the main games.

Agreed.

That would be awesome. And add invasion

Covid was 1.75 years of the over 6 they had to dev. Covid id NOT a valid excuse.

I’m just gonna accept the fact that I won’t be seeing a scarab at all again. We toppled the biggest of the banished. What are they going to do, pull one out their -Yoink!- in another DLC. Maybe if they come out with some improved firefight.

But the normal halo wars vehicles like locusts, wolverines, vampires, reavers, any counter vehicle basically, I dont think we should expect to see, unless as a set piece. Just because of their specific roles as anti air, or anti vehicle, when the FPS games are 90% infantry.

Not really a valid excuse since previous Halo games had AA Wraith, AA Warthog, Gauss Hog, Hannibal Scorpion, Hornet, Revenant, Prowler, Mantis, Elephant, Falcon, Seraph, Sabre, and of course Spirit dropship. Scarab, civilian vehicles, and the legendary Forklift. All those and then the Halo Wars vehicles could and should co-exist in Infinite if 343 could get a clue how to design large open BTB maps and better Campaign terrain. We could absolutely have AA vehicles if we have more air vehicles and large maps to fly them around. Right now, it sucks to fly a Banshee since there’s no room to fly and you get EMP blasted out of the sky every 5 seconds. Nobody should defend 343’s incompetent design choices. Ske7ch said they want to port everything from past titles within the 10 years, so I am going to hold them to that. I expect them to at least exist in Forge. We will make use of them in ways they can’t.

Yeah, if you knew nothing about Halo you’d struggle to piece together that:

  • There was this alliance of aliens called the Covenant

  • But these guys broke away from them because they were being lied to.

  • These guys are secular whilst the Covenant were religious about some big journey.

There is some assumed knowledge even though you do wander into a history of the Banished area with some holograms.

I mean you could just handwave this as “another Covenant splinter faction” and not dwell on it too much if you haven’t played Halo Wars 2. You’re not missing much since this is the game which provides most of the actual Banished lore and especially their motivations for attacking humanity. Halo Wars doesn’t even tell you why they have beef with humanity and are attacking the Ark. There a simple story and then there’s an incomplete one.

I too, miss the Bruteshot.
It made no sense that it was something produced by the Covenant, which prized Plasma weapons over anything else due to their efficiency and technology.

Bruteshot could be easily replicated by the Banished or heck, the Jiralhanae race in general probably made it themselves. It made even less sense that the Banished has so many Plasma Pistols and even a new version of the Plasma Rifle.

It would make sense if they held contraband like older versions of the Plasma Pistol or the OG Halo 1 Plasma Rifle or even the Brute Plasma Rifle, but how on earth did they make a NEW version of the Plasma Rifle which somehow aims to be more efficient in battery usage using Burst fire?

I really didn’t enjoy the campaign all that much, mainly because they reminded me of Destiny’s Cabal, but on steroids.

They had an entire extra YEAR

I mean, the Spiker and Brute Plasma Rifle weren’t really that impressive as Brute weapons. Only the Brute Shot really feels missed, but I get why it’s not in the game. Between the Hydra and Cindershot’s primary fire modes we basically already have much stronger versions of both iterations of the Brute Shot in the game. It wouldn’t be a unique addition.

The Mangler plays much better than the Spiker ever did. And the enemies do some pretty cool stuff with the Ravager at long range. The Brute Plasma Rifle would just do the same thing Plasma Pistol semi-auto does but stronger. At that point just buff the Plasma Pistol and save the redundancy.

Excuse after excuse, if I had a nickel for every time I heard the lackluster decisions surrounding this game being blamed on Covid I could buy a different color option for my spartan…

Covid isn’t a crutch 343 can use when other gaming companies managed to put out fully fleshed out complete games.
