Uhhh was that really the banished?

Ok, my biggest problem with the campaign was the damn actual Banished. If you look at Halo Wars 2, they have all these never-before seen vehicles that seemed interesting, and their forces seemed quite formidable, with the scary looking brutes from the cutscenes. How come the brutes in infinite seem like babies? They die in a few shots and they yell stuff at you that a disney villain would. They don’t even look like brutes really. Also, don’t even get me started on their weapons. All the weapons the brutes would use that were apart of their species were gravity hammers, skewers, manglers, ravagers, and the shock rifle. Where are the brute shot, brute plasma rifle, and spiker? The Halo Infinite Brute weapons are so lackluster and make me feel like the only true brute weapon is the gravity hammer.

I’m gonna assume most of it will come in DLC.
And before people complain “incomplete game 343 wan da money”, remember how big of an impact COVID had on game development

I haven’t played Halo Wars 2, but the Brutes are really strong and scary on Legendary.
Every time I hear those Brute Berserkers, I use the Grappleshot to jump to a really tall structure.

I noticed some of them were holding weapons and using them like Brute Shots, and they were using the Mangler like a Spiker.
It doesn’t make sense they removed those.

At first it was cool, but it’s really boring to have the Banished mostly using human weapons and weapons that look like humans made them.

I think there was an article saying that the problem was bad management, and Microsoft trying to get the game released in time for the release of the Xbox Series.

It wouldn’t be good if they released the content they had to cut for more money though.

I think there should be updates on top of DLC. Eg when DLC comes out and adds new weapons and vehicles and stuff, they should also be added to the base campaign, but DLC gets its own stuff

More importantly, where the hell are the special variants and all the cool vehicles? Halo Infinite is painfully lacking in vehicles.

Nah, only the higher ranked ones.

Same reaction, but only after I’ve choked a laughter.

The “Brute shot” you’ve seen is most likely the Scrap Cannon. A large turret like weapon.
Haven’t experienced brutes using the Mangler with such an RoF that it’d remind me of the spiker.

I think there will be more to come seeing as the Campaign only took part on a small, destroyed, part of Zeta Halo and in the that campaign it was stated that the Banished have full control of the Halo.

I think all of the cut content should be free, considering that it would have been included if not for the game being rushed and mismanaged.

The vehicles it does have aren’t very useful either.

I’d like to see all of those added, but the Jackrabbit, Cyclops and Blisterback look like they might be fun to drive.

Well, I guess the Berserkers and Chieftains are the more difficult ones to fight.

They do sound silly.

I think the weapon they’re using like a Brute Shot was actually a Rocket Launcher.
I haven’t actually seen much of the Scrap Cannon.

I’m not saying they’re quickly firing the Mangler, I’m just saying it took the place of the Spiker.
They use it at a distance, and when I die from it or something else, they run up and shoot at me with it like they used to do with the Spiker.

The main issue is that 343 sucks at making BTB maps. There is no room to use vehicles effectively. 343 is actually completely clueless what BTB is supposed to be. The map designers need to quit their jobs. I’m not joking. There is no room at all to fly a Banshee or drive a Scorpion, and you can barely maneuver a Warthog on the main roads they set up.
There is no way to get over rocks or slight hills because they made the most unrealistic ramps that don’t exist in nature. Bungie BTB maps were always massive and open with plenty of room to fly and drive any vehicle. 343 BTB maps give you thin roads and trenches cluttered with rocks and cliffs. The Scorpion basically can only drive on one designated path and can’t turn around or drive over rocks. I hate using anything other than Ghosts and Wasps. 343 needs to go play more MCC BTB and get a clue. The Campaign is basically barren wasteland with trees, mountains, and rocks, yet it’s still so hard to drive vehicles around.

The campaign map has the same problem.
Vehicles frequently flip over, and there are a lot of areas that vehicles can’t reach.

I wouldn’t say they need to quit their jobs, but they need to think more about the modes being used with the maps.

Yeah, it’s like they haven’t actually played the game (it seems like that for most games these days).

The Halo campaign have always made the badguys like this. The gameplay tone and story tone aren’t the same as it’d be really hard otherwise. Humanity has been losing to the covenant yet we wipe the floor with them.
As for the vehicles, they could be dlc. I mean, the only new vehicles is the razorback and that’s just a reskinned troop-warthog. The vehicle game really did get shafted in Infinite.

We have like half the vehicles Reach had

I mean they seemed in line with Brutes from Halo 2 and 3 in terms of dialogue and gameplay.

You do know Covid happened in 2020 right? That One year…set them back so much in their development cycle? Matter fact, quaratine started happening in February - March of that year and they released footage of that game in e3 and it was an older build…so that was only a couple of months of development being halted by Covid in that timeframe.

Lets not forget…they had a $500 million budget but couldnt…fit content in the game…

I think the brute shot should come to the game, in future missions or w/e. The Spiker, I think it vanished along with a lot of older weapons due to its design as a dual-wield gun. A lot of people used to criticize the Spiker I remember.

In that cutscene Jerome handles those Brutes pretty easily.

It’s just Atriox has mastered the art of being so still he becomes invisible. Because a ten foot armoured tank covered in fur isn’t going to be easy to spot….or smell.

Because gameplay has NEVER durectly translated to how hard it is lore wise.

In the lore, it has always been way harder than in gameplay.

Because BTB is now mainly for bigger infantry combat instead of vehicles….

I don’t agree with that direction but that is what they went with.

yea, its really lame.
