They’re alien? They can look like anything.
I, personally think they look really cool.
Trees are the least of my worries.
Must be that global warming
This map is officially ruined!
Pre-order cancelled.
I had a thread like this a few months ago. It basically went on for two pages with everyone saying, “OMG They’re alien they can look however the heck they want!”
I personally think the trees on Longbow look absolutely ridiculous. They might be fine, but the leaves and branches are 2D, so they look even more fake without the middle trunk.
But yea, you’re not going to find many people that side with you on this.
maybe they’re like Christmas trees that need to be branched out first, either that or place holders but looking at the date I doubt it. But when I’m shooting someone in the fact I don’t think I’ll be looking at the trees.
i think they looked cool, i was admiring them the first time i watched this. they look so alien. they have been doing a pretty good job at designing alien looking flora.
Welcome to Concord.
Those trees are from planet Concord, a polar region. They likely wouldn’t like like our Earth trees. They’re making them alien by giving them unique and different appearances than trees we’re used to.

I don’t really care, my only concern was from the video they look incredibly low-res/2-D at distances

This isn’t earth, its a human colony, so the trees are similar to the pine trees but they aren’t pine trees, and really? You not getting the game over some trees? this is the only map with those trees, so just dont play on that map, you’re a ignorant idiot if that’s your excuse
You guys are worried because that map has nasty trees? Oo

It would lead to a overall Quality let down on 343’s part.

they don’t look low res to me and i think it looks 2d because it was designed that way. i think the tree is supposed to have multiple long pine leaves that stack up verically and branch out in 3 directions. it is obviously intentional for there to be 120 degree gaps around the tree with no leaves, its a unique design.
Officially seen it all, when gamers complain about the style of alien trees, something is truly wrong. Well I will be packing my supplies for the upcoming end of the world event, find a bunker people.
I would rather burn/corrupt the Youtube video for showing some craptastic Black Ops II trailer instead, where are you when we need you Didact.
that doesn’t seem low res at all, you can see all the leaves and even snow that sits on top of the tree.

They are not low res, its just another thing for someone to take a jab at because they simply appear different than most common trees found on Earth. They are clearly designed to be similar to Tundra plants with a mix of a Palm tree, swampy, appearance, since the area is surrounded by water.
They’re very alien, which is good, but very low-res looking.
They did look kinda ‘copy paste’ to me whilst watching the video.
They definitely stand out, not sure if its in a good way or not though.
