This thing is way more OP now than the DMR ever was. It DOMINATES mid and even close range. You can go into matches of Infinity Slayer and Rumble Pit with literally every single player using it. As I was working on the Suppressor and Storm Rifle, I noticed it was VERY hard to manage a kill on a BR user.
The thing just plain fires WAY too fast.
They traded one OP weapon for another; they fixed nothing.

Is it just a little too powerful, yes, but it’s supposed to dominate mid-range, and as a competent AR user, I have no problem with them up close.
Maybe it needs retuning, but your comparison just isn’t true. The DMR overpowered ever other loadout weapon, and while the BR can perform every combat role, it masters none. Hell, even in mid range, if you come up against a good carbine user you’re screwed.
Maybe they should get rid of the DMR so we can go out in big maps again.

Anyways. Its not really the BR that’s the problem it’s the storm rifle and suppressor that need major work. Projectiles plus low aim assist is a TERRIBLE combination. It just plain does not work. You cant relaibly hit anything. Trust me I too know the agony of trying to storm rifle or suppressor against a bunch of BR spambots.
The problem is they took what works as a balanced buff for the AR (the ar is fine) and blindly applied it to the SR and suppressor and it failed miserably. They have lost their nitch and are useless. One of three things needs to happen, increase the aim assist, make them hitscans, or just further boost the damage for these two guns.

No one touches my storm rifle. I have cracked so many BR users heads with it, any person who touches it gets the same thing.
The suppressor could use a little tuning though.
The BR is now the dominant weapon of H4. But some speedy ranged LR shooting fixes that.
You are wrong, everyone is using the BR because it’s their favourite weapon not because it’s the strongest. I kill a lot of BR users with the carbine.
The BR today isn’t nearly as OP as the DMR was. Fact.

Yeah, I use the Battle Rifle not because its a strong weapon, its my favorite weapon, like you said. I’ve never really used the DMR at all.
Also for Halo 5 they better not remove the BR (it won’t be removed btw) because they just brought it back after 5 years of absence.
