The Recon variant of the Assault Rifle has an energy bayonet attached here. This isn’t Covenant tech, but do you think the UEG/UNSC is developing energy blade weapons like the Energy Sword/Stave/mace or hardlight blade. Would be cool for a UEG/UNSC variant on this kind of weapon, but not on the level of Forerunners and Covenant.
You remember that weapon exchange in halo 3 campaign “the ark”? Probably some point around then.
And during Spartan OPs there were some accounts of Spartan 3s modifying their guns with remains of knights and such. Such as the Oathsborn.
I think the UNSC/UEG isn’t really developing the technology on their own and are more or less just reverse-engineering the blades from the Covenant.
You also need to keep in mind. None of these bayonets are in campaign, but in the war games simulation. Nothing can be said if these are actually being produced or simulated for “testing” purposes in the war games.
Energy weapons wouldn’t be very practical for your average marine except in bayonet or combat knife forms. I don’t think a marine would survive charging across the battlefield with a sword. hahaha Unless that marine was… AJ Johnson!
Where have you been? The Energy Bayonet is an attachment the UNSC made. They also make a knight’s blade attachment.
